Rosebud454 Hi Anniemay, Like you i had mast in 2006, followed by chemo. Hoping also for recon next year. Seen a ps who recommended ld with implant. I thought i was 34b but he said more like 34c. I also get the impression after reading some threads that it is better with ladies with more flesh to have ld as it doesnt pull as much and skin isnt as tight as it would be with a thinner person. .that worries me a bit as i am quite slim, but my middle is slowly growing i think thanks to menopause. Hi ladies, I have returned with the first double dose completed AND I didn't have to be dragged out the door. Hooray. Hoping not to jinx myself but so much better on CMF so far, as you said I reallly feel more like myself and bald patches have hair of half an inch already, so heading for a pixie cut before too long I hope. I am having mad visual disturbances occasionally which I have to talk to the onc about.The first time I was 12 miles from home and going 60mph when the windscreen startedto wiggle around, flickering wentMum's and broke the journey into short parts when better. It was like I imagine an acid attack would be, but have no experience of drugs so that may be wrong. After I got to Mum's I lost the whole ceiling and could not see anything over my eyebrows. Thought I might check in at opticians incase of glaucoma but could be stressor migraine apparently. It came back for 3 minutes today when Oh rushed me before we went to the unit. Apart from that a delicate tummy but just having to be careful rather than big problems so far. Will be very happy if I manage to keep it like this throughout. Here's hoping! I do get a reaction on the last part of the CMF each time so have to have it in a drip and even got it back today after that change. I have to have the last tiny part of the C dripped at the slowest pace or go faint and terrible pains in my nose and head. Today I shouted stop early so did not get into the state I was last week and then carried on fine. Sukes well done for not going in. Do you have rads next? Hi, When i first was diagnosed my best friend became very very distant and whenever i saw her she cried. It made me so mad at the time because i thought that she was being selfish and was feeling sorry for herself rather than supporting me as she was one of the only people who new exactly how i was feeling because to everybody else my guard was up. I realised after a week of having no contact that she was shocked and hurt by the diagnosis and she was finding it difficult to deal with. I spoke to her about it and then I had to understand also that even though the cancer was directly affecting me it also hit my nearest very hard too. After talking it through, we sorted it and now if I feel I need to cry she is the strong one picking me up and making me laugh again, it does take time for people to get used to cancer but I have found that most do eventually and those that dont arnt really worth your time or worries. I have a rescue cat I got in January. I lost my other cat to thyroid disease in December ( he was only 6). The month after i got my new cat I got my diagnosis. I f I have a tired day on chemo he sits with me all day. He never makes a mess and has occasional scratched but I am not going to get worried about it as his therapeutic value is immeasurable to me. Definately get a cat !!! I am nearly all the way through my chemo and not had any infections or problems. Rach xx ... View more
