Hello ladies, another boney lady that hasn't been on much lately. Switched laptops and it's taken me a while to get around to logging back in. I do have news, DX last July with secondaries and after trying a few different treatments that didn't work was put on Taxol. This is working, they're really pleased with me and I have no significant active disease. Pretty amazing. I hope this news give you hope, honestly sometimes things work out ok for a bit. Hey Buffy. I felt the same watching SP. I got my dx in June and had a terrible summer, the emotion of the olympics made me cry most days. Gave me something to do though, might have topped myself if I'd been stuck with bargain hunt every day. There are a couple of clips that still bring a lump to my throat. 😉 Claire - yay, stable is amazing. I'm 3 weeks into taxol and hope it works. Got more aches than usual though so am fretting. Off to see onc tomorrow to ask how long we give this one before we decide to swap again. Nothings worked yet and I really worry. Got to hope that the aches are the mets healing, but I don't think so. Ah well. Re strictly, I cried with Lisa. She's such a fantastic character but the best dancers came through. Don't think Denise will win, unless she has a personality transplant and makes the public love her. I favor nimble kimble personally. Katie - good for you, your treatment is still going well then? Val, I would advise not going too long if you're getting an acrylic wig, I found that hair rubbing on clothes created friction and ruined the hair. I just felt untidy all the time, what started as a silky very life like wig ended up brittle and matted. And in only a couple of months. Picked up shorter bobs on Friday and feel much better. Oh nooooooo. My post has disappeared. Booooooo. Got to go shower and see my nephew in his nativity play, yay. With all my messing I had fortunately copied my ramblings. All out of synch but you get the idea. Xxx Hey there lovely Boneys. Just taken me 45 mins to catch up on all the comments since my last visit. Didn't realise I'd left it so long. Anyway, val and anyone else worried about taxol. I'm on my 2nd cycle and it's easy so far. No nausea, no bag of drugs to take home that I always forget to take on time. Steroid pre mess make me feel like a new woman for a couple of days. Find I get hotfans cold flushes which are a steroid se as you get a higher dose for first 3 weeks. Then ware off, but nothing too bad. Stilla managing and enjoying work. So for me, it's great. Just got everything crossed that this time, the treatment works. So taxol ladies, hang on in there and lots of love. Cromercrab, didn't realise you were worried about your leg, willbog bother you on fb 😉 Sorry I missed chat last night, assume you lit candles... Hello there lovelies. Thanks for your response and I'm sorry if I worried you. To be honest I think it's all stemmed from my wedding anniversary. Was only married last year and at that point I was looking forward to a very different life. I've been wallowing in that a bit, I'll be fine. Sort of decided to think of my life as extraordinary. Not what I wanted but certainly not the norm. problem is the more I learn the more fearful I am. Still think it's rubbish and unfair but I refuse to give up hope. Ridiculous and unrealistic as it might seem, the clever doctors COULD keep dreaming up enough drugs to keep us going. And another thing, what the devil are we going to do without Downton???? Val - that's ace that you're still just boney, I'd consider that quite a result, good for you. I don't post much on here either, simply because I tend to be online on my phone and I can't post with it. Tend to use facebook more as it's eaier. It is a shame this is less active as you guys really lifted me out of a very dark hole when I was first dx. Val, you shouldn't feel responsible for helping newbies though, if it's too hard, don't worry. There are enough of us cover. Hope everyone is OK. Sorry I cant comment on either Claire or Happyfeet, but I hope you get reassurrance soon, Cromercrab - sweetie, I didn't realise you were having a wobble. Why would they send you to the Marsden, thought they had it all covered at UHCW? Good he's still talking of options though, you trust them so I'd go with the flow if you can.
