I have an underactive thyroid but have had it for about 8 years and was diagnosed with bc July 2010 but since I have been taking arimidex it as gone the other way overactive so the GP is decreasing the thyroid meds to try to get it back nearer normal am wondering if it could be the arimidex that caused it to change,

Hi Jan I had a mx in August 2010 and then radio and have been experiencing pain but not all the time it seems to come and go on the scar line and slightly to the side for the last couple of months I rang the BC Nurse and got an appointment with the consultant and he thought it was rads related but sent me for an ultrasound last Wednesday and they found nothing wrong and said it was the rads and that it can go on for quite a long time,hope this is some help,

I got Anastrazole 2 weeks ago instead of the Arimidex and have noticed no difference at all,in fact the side effects are slightly improved at the moment,

When I picked my prescrition up last week mine had changed as well, anastrozole is the generic and the patent for Arimidex ran out so it is cheaper to have the generic anastrozole, as as been said it is the same as Panadol and Paracetamol there is no difference, mine is made bt Teva as well they seem to supply most of the generic medications,,I am in West Yorkshire,

Hi Izzy the days you have off will be added on to the end as Pauline says so you will still have the 20 you are supposed to have, I also started mine on Tuesday the onc said they dont always start on Mondays,

Hi Hotmomma I was diagnosed with invasive lobular at the end of July and had mastectomy in August and Radiotherapy in November because it was very close to the chest wall, so when I go for the first mamogram it will be on the remaining breast I worry about the site of the mastectomy as nothing will be done there to tell if it as come back, hope all goes well for you,

Hi Donna I had rads after my mx was told as the margins were close to the chest wall it would be better to have the rads as a precautionary measure,
