Hi everyone! Please can I ask what is the latest research or information on exercise/weights/using and bloods and bp etc on your bc arm side ? I finished treatment in 2010 and then had 5 yrs tamoxifen. Was always told no bp or bloods to be done on that side ( had 7-10 nodes removed I think for testing) and not over use it with bag carrying etc . Is this still the case with latest research? Finding it hard to find out as all Drs and nurses say different some try to do bloods there but I don’t allow it they have to use feet lol as other arm veins have gone from chemo. I don’t particularly like after it work wise I carry stuff with it and use it as normal I put on 2 stone a few yrs back and then lost it all within 6 months due to on going stomache problems (from Chemo??) it has left me with awful bingo wings lol arms like sticks now seems no muscle at all, I’m 52 which I guess dosnt help! Can I start to do some low weight at home with bottles or something does anyone know? Thanks for reading x

Hi all I didn't know where to post lol I finished tamoxifen last yr having not had a period since 2nd chemo in 2009. I'm now 49 and for the last 3 months have suffered with bad cramps and a little spotting once a month sore boobs the works . This week I had a full on period not v heavy but bad cramps for a week I got conflicting advice last summer when taken off tam Consultant said the risks of more tam were worse than stopping for me and any bleeding might mean still too much oestrogen I was in a grey area as menopause cos of tam but bloods said not really into it Bc nurse said many ladies my age go back to periods until normal menopause time I don't understand how they spend 5 yrs blocking my hormones cos cancer feeds on it and then it dosn't matter?? am ringing bc nurse again on Monday Thankyou xx

Hi there, I'm just up on. My 5 yrs of tam. Just had clear mammogram,waiting for appointment with consultant for physical exam and I've been told to stop tam for 6-8 weeks then have bloods done so they can propally see whether I am going to benefit staying on it or going onto something else. Risk assessment pro and cons I suppose. Presume it's hormones they are looking at with bloods. I'm 48 and haven't had a period since 2nd chemo, I'm really worried they are going to suddenly start as heard some horror stories about major floods!

hello all its been a while since i was on here ive now been on tamoxifen for 5 yrs and am waiting consultants appointment. i just wondered what the latest advice is re taking tam for 10 yrs? how do they decide if its to your advantage, or is it postcode lottery? also if i stop will periods return im 48 thanks in advance x

Thanks for the reply, I've already rung and it's no good as my brand is ordered in, and now locked in my surgery till Monday. I can get a prescription no probs but all local chemists don't stock my brand

Hi, I've stupidly forgotten to pick up my prescription for tamoxifen today I've 1 left for tonight. Can I miss till Monday? Or am I putting myself at risk? Will I suddenly get a period that I havnt has for 5 yrs? Panicking loads lol

I've been on teva since it swapped to aps and its the best of the bunch for me
now they can't get teva???? Is it disappearing??
they rang today to say that they could get me the 10mg for now and I just take 2 a dday will I not totice any difference doing it like this?
probaly a daft question but the other brands made me sooo ill I'm not good with

Oh god don't say that!? I cand take w at all I was bed ridden with it
when they stopped my aps and gave me the teva I asked them if I was going to go through side effects and then they would stop teva! They said that teva took over aps and there would be no supply problem!!!!!!!

Hi,I too had all this. Dx aug 09' chemo,rads etc, then ttamoxifen
took a yr of swapping brands till I got one that didn't make me really iill then the anxiety and panic attacks sstarted so I now have citalapram,which made me feel worse before better!
i also went to CBt counciling which helped
