Hi claireglen, Thanks for replying, I have to decided to take my letrozole for a month to see how I go. have been taking them for 2 weeks now, and initially thought my hot flushes eased, but now seem back to normal, just having the odd flush every now and again, but seem to get hotter at night. I've also been getting pain in my ankle (which I had before) but much worse, more so when I've been on my feet a lot. Got to the point where I went to the Dr's and sent for an x ray. Results next week. I don't know I seem to lurch for one thing to the other as yesterday went really dizzy! Back to Dr again! Was told my blood pressure drops dramatically when I stand up, so just to move slowly, huh chance would be a fine thing! Bit sick of the whole thing to be honest, oh well onwards and upwards. Hope you are doing ok on your meds. It seems to never end doesn't it x

Hi ladies, just a question for you. I have been prescribed today letrozole and was told after a computer calculation I have a 1 in 50 chance of the cancer returning if I take it. I stupidly didn't ask what my chances were if I didn't? As I still suffer with hot flushes I'm just wondering if it's actually worth taking it. Have been told it can make the flushes worse. Also if I do take it, is there a best time of day to take them. I was thinking at night so if I get any side effects I will hopefully sleep through them, although I do have trouble sleeping anyways, will it make my insomnia worse? Aaargh!!! Bloody cancer, so fed up with it all !!! Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks Pat.

Hi, I finished m y 15 rads last week, I applied E45 at least twice a day. Drink plenty of water, as a couple of days I didn't and felt quite quesy, so drinking water really helps. Also, listen to your body, as tiredness can hit you like a brick wall, take it easy on yourself. I had a 45 minute drive each way to the hospital, so if you can get someone to help with the driving, its less stressful. Good luck Pattyp

Hi ladies, you do so keep me entertained, especially when sitting on the bench of boredom!! Was lucky to be sitting on the Wimbledon bench yesterday watching Andy, popped out for a bit when he was losing to return to see him win, yay! I will be back on the working bench tomorrow as off to work I go, so pleased, as I have clear margins after 2nd WLE, and feel more like (normal) self again. The waiting bench is still lurking though, apps and dads to look forward to, yipee!

Hi ladies and gents, reading your comments, it seems that second WLE's are quite common, although I do wonder why they don't get it all first time round, I am quite small breasted, my surgeon said this makes it slightly more difficult to get clear margins. Anyways, have now been told after my 2nd WLE, I'm clear yipee!!! So now the wait continues for the next stage of treatment, an appointment with the oncologist and discussion about radiotherapy, I work in school and would really prefer it done during school holidays, but will just have to go with the flow. Hope you all recover quickly from your surgery, and the sun shines so we can enjoy it during our enforced time off x

Hi Sam,
I went into school last week too, it makes me so angry that I have got this shifty cancer, I miss being with the kids and the staff are great too, my daughter is doing the race for life, and they have all generously sponsored her, makes me feel so humble. Had my second WLE on 20th, bummer as I thought I would get rads done in summer hols to and back in Sept. Am hoping to go back next week if I'm up to it. But yeah makes me want to rant big style!!!!
Hope your scan goes ok, take care, will soon be waving those bras in the air in celebration lol 😉

So sorry to hear your Mums diagnosis, you are bound to be worried, that is completely normal. Be assured that your Mum and your Dad should get the best care and if you have any questions, this is the place to be, don't Google as some info is not up to date and you can scare yourself silly! Just be there for your Mum, hold her hand, cry together, be strong together, that's all you can do and you can beat this crappy disease!! Thinking of you and your family, and if you want to rant that's fine too x

Hi, I had my 2nd WLE, last week, so.still awaiting results. I have been told I need 3 weeks of radiotherapy followed by 5 years of hormone treatment. My question is, if I am still having hot flushes now, no periods for over 5 years, will the flushes get worse? Have I hot this joy to look forward too? Probably as I am totally stressed they seem to be coming back with a vengeance.

Hi sinfullyd , please don't worry about posting your questions, that's what this forum is all about. Funnily enough I felt a lump on my snb scar today when showering, gave me a fright I can tell you, and yep it disappear when I lie down. I shall be ringing my BC nurse tomorrow, just to query it, probably scar tissue, but yes you do get paranoid about any little lump and bump don't you. I suggest that maybe you get it checked to put your mind at rest, I'm sure the doc or nurse see this all the time and they do understand how we feel. Hope you get it sorted soon.. Pat

Hi, hope everyone is coping with the endless waiting, got my review app today, 7th August, arrggh more waiting!! By the way I too feel paranoid about feeling lumpy, only natural I suppose, I felt a lump under my snb scar, can't decide what it is, could be scar tissue?? Anyone else had anything similar?? Think I will ring BC nurse tomorrow, they may even have my results from 2nd WLE, with a bit of luck. Here's hoping x

Yes I think the waiting is the worst part of this horrible rollercoaster we are on, but once you know your results, good or bad you then move on to thinking OK right let's get on with it, and lets sort this out !! Hope you are feeling a bit better, and call your BC nurse if you have any worries. Take care P x

Hello all you lovely ladies, I am on sick leave from school, I'm a HLTA, had my second WLE last week, and have been feeling so fed up, but after reading all your posts you have really cheered me up, thank you so much!!! Have got the awful Jezza on in the background, oh my goodness and I thought we had problems lol such a terrible programme!!
I too would love to lose some weight, but friends keep bringing me chocolate and cakes and it would be so rude not to eat them! Off to meet friends for lunch too, oh dear, diet starts tomorrow, well maybe ???

Hi Sinfullyd, the pains you describe are quite normal as I am suffering too after my 2nd WLE, as margins weren't clear. Although I haven't experienced pain through to shoulder, perhaps your could ring your BC nurse, just for some reassurance. Mine doesn't last long, and does ease with time. Sorry everdream, that you are here with us all, I don't know about your query but have you tried having a chat with your BC nurse? Mine are fantastic, ring them today and ask, that's what they are there for. It's horrible all this waiting isn't it, drives you crazy, but you are in good company here, take care and I hope you get some answers soon . Pattyp x

Thanks for your comments ladies, now recovering at home after staying in overnight due to terrible sickness, I don't think my body likes being chopped about and being put to sleep. Wish I could sleep now, having many sleepless nights now and even my herbal sleepy pills don't seem to work anymore. Spoke to one of the lovely BC nurses today and she told me I will have to wait for 6 weeks for the after surgery review, so annoying, as was due to go next week for my 1st WLE, grrrr!!! Then after that will see onc to discuss radiotherapy. Another week of waiting for results of 2nd WLE, keeping my fingers crossed that they cleared all the little b#######s this time. Waiting is obviously the name of the game but I don't want to play anymore , gonna throw my toys out of the pram!!!! Best wishes to you all , sorry for having a little rant , needs must every now and then.
