I can see we are all busy! I'm just updating on here as I can type more quickly 🙂 Busy at work making people redundant and have just typed my own letter too. Not going to let it phase me as my priorities have certainly changed!! OH got the big contract in Hull so now he wants me to go live there and work for him - must admit I am tempted - no bills haha but then again how would my kids manage? that's what I worry about. He's asked me to go up for a meeting with them on Thursday so he's had to pay for my train tickets as it's 3 days til pay day - I feel terrible that I couldnt pay my own way. Ho hum. Went to GP last week with this ruddy neck ache - he's ordered an MRI as I did have one back in '96 or '97 but its not on the system - they told me then it was dislocated at some point and fused back together, so it will be good to have an update! I've spent so much on sports massages just to keep me going! Anyway, daughter still looking for more hours in a nursery, son still at Barclays but still on emergency tax . Nothing improves!! ... I had this rather than a lump and to be honest its very hard to tell - it just feels a bit firmer if that makes sense - i would never have felt it ! So really is best to get it looked at 🙂 ... View more

Hi Beryl - the nurse gave me a leaflet and showed me how to massage across my body to allow the fluid build up to move from the swollen breast to the other side. she said if it stays in there it's full of germs and stuff and can be dangerous! I have noticed the swelling go down already and the "hotness" as well. If you let me have your email address - I'll scan the leaflet in that she gave me tho it says its for the arm it has the breast bit in too. Hi Beryl - it's just lymphodema in my breast - it's been slightly swollen and warm ever since radiotherapy but they kept telling me it was a normal side effect, but the lymphodema nurse has acted immediately saying it could go into my arm. So there was me waiting for it to get better and it wasnt going to without a bit of help! Fitter (Pam) - best wishes for the op - is it at Walsgrave as I'm sure you said you were in Cov x Jane - didnt do the run ha - my daughter ended up ill again and calling in sick to work - am sure she'll be the next one to get the sack - always ill that child, so my OH came and picked so up last night so I got out of doing the run 🙂 Joan - they do the park runs or walks whatever you want to do - all around the country and If you register online and get bar codes they actually time you so I really wanna give it a go! My friend from school - Carole ( such a common name haha) is coming up from Gloucester with her OH tonight and were going out for a Thai meal in Worcester - saw her last year before all the treatment started but not since. She was my best friend from age 11 to about 18 so its nice and not many people know me very well, it's good for me when I'm with someone who really knows me ws I dont have to pretend to be anything I'm not 🙂 Am looking forward to tonight - have a great weekend everyone xxx ... Pam - that's good news x am so relieved they found the problem! Jane - yep - am trying to massage my lymph nodes at least once a day - it has made a difference already, I'm just annoyed that even though I kept telling everyone I met - even you! haha that it was just pushed to one side as being normal. Beryl - I just cancelled my dentist appointment - am a scaredy cat 🙂 and you would think after everything that the dentist is a doddle! I have registered for the Parkrun - hmmmm this means I may be up and at the Memorial Park for about 8.30am to join another lady who has had cancer of the hip I think, in doing 5k around the park - hmmmm I'm still not sure, especially as weather forecast is rain and rain 😞 I would normally be with the OH tomorrow night and Sat morning, but my daughter is struggling to find someone to babysit while she's at work Friday night so I've volunteered. Guess I feel a bit guilty that I'm not around every weekend, but I don't want her to rely on me ! Di and Sue - thinking of you both! Jay - Gosh you're having a lot to deal with! Kitty - that's ok 🙂 I'll forgive you x Did my race fit last night and they did a fitness test where you run continuously for 12 minutes up and down, well I was lapped several times! and then thought I'd done really well that I did 1400metres in the 12 minutes - until you put it into the online calculator for the Cooper test and it says I'm "very Poor" lol - oh well, didnt realise it knew my financial status as well ha ha. Well am off to Norfolk tomorrow with the OH - he has a tender interview with the CC and I think I'm being his contract manager or procurement manager, one or the other. Day off my day job anyhow 🙂 Beryl - am struggling with my weight too - I seem to love my food too much lately! the only way I seem to lose anything is by starving myself on the Cambridge Diet, although my friend who did the Bowen stuff on me is recommending the 5:2 diet that I think Jane has been doing, so maybe I'll look at that. So difficult, when it seems to be the least of my worries and not that important in the grand scheme of things. Afternoon Ladies x I should have learned my lesson by now with this site and posted in word first doh! Anyway, Twinky - you've been through so much already - the only way is up 🙂 Paragayan - I did ask my GP last time about specifying the brand, but she looked it up on the computer and the computer said no lol. Oh well, I am being changed after a couple of years so maybe I can stick at it 🙂 Had a lovely weekend in London with my OH, lovely meal and walk around and finally managed to get to the British Museum. Bit rushed as am having to organise our home life like a flipping rota! daughter on shifts so it'll be up to me to collect grandson from childminder straight after work, take him to his dads, go home get changed and get to Race Fit for 6pm. Afternoon ladies xx Well I didnt get to see the ONC - just his registrar who is another newbie - not seen her before and probably wont see her again as she was heavily pregnant! she asked if I'd seen the lymphodema nurse and I said no I would like to see her - but I assume I have to wait for yet another appointment to come through - silly me was thinking I'd walk around and see her then and there 🙂 Marie - I had exactly the same with Tamoxifen brands - I tried loads of different chemists to get the same brand and gave up in the end - so now I just take what I'm given and suffer the flushes - although it does look a little like blusher so saves on makeup haha I've called the Police Legal Services today and told them there is no point us talking to the lad who bought the bike as there's nothing to talk about - it's our bike we have the proof, and if it's money he's after then he should chase the person who sold him the stolen motorbike in the first place. I've put that in writing with copies of all the documents I have, and added up how much was spent on the bike before it was stolen and put copies of invoices in too. Not much more I can do but hope and wait. In the meantime we have to fill in insurance for the second one - but I'm not holding out much hope for that one as the small print says the excess is doubled if stolen over 500m from my house! Evening Peeps I am soooo sorry I havent posted in ages! Work has been strange and hectic - bad year for them and I've been tasked with putting stuff on eBay and we're looking to move premises, plus tender work and stuff for my partner. Plus my daughter has been doing care work training and has FINALLY got a job doing care work - YIP YIP! I just hope her old banger of a car will hold up!. Well son had motorbike no. THREE stolen on Wed so I've signed myself up for a second lot of finance I cant afford. We are still hoping to get motorbike no. ONE back but the chap who bought it in good faith wants me to pay him compensation for the money he spent on it (yeah right). So I just hope we can sort that out, and put insurance claim in for the second one that's still on finance, though it looks like the excess will wipe that one out! Phew - things have certainly kept me on my toes!! OH has sciatica so has been hobbling about and driving up and down to Hull. We're off to London this weekend for a nice Turkish meal and hotel and shopping as it's Valentine's weekend and he'll be in Hull on Thursday 😞 We've also just booked the ferry to go and see my penfriend who's having a 50 birthday party in June in France. I havent seen her for 10 years as she came over for her 40th and since then her husband died of cancer, then my dad died then I got it! ha ha I've been to my Race Fit thing tonight, but I seem to have woken up feeling like I've smoked a whole pack of cigarettes and I dont smoke anymore! Of course I start to think the worse, as I'm starting to get a cough and I feel a bit wheezy - someone said something about a virus going around? Marie - yes I got my appointments sorted - I think I saw that you're having problems with yours?! I'm due to see the ONC again on Thursday so I need to write a list of questions and I cant remember the ones I'd already thought of! My boob still feels swollen and warm and I'm still putting cream on twice a day, but apart from that I think I'm getting there 🙂 Hope everyone is ok - Joan - I'll just be coming for the day on Sat as last time, so will have some lunch or something but not evening meal - can't believe it's come around so quickly. Hi Sheirma - its nerve damage - i had carpal tunnel surgery before chemo and the pain came back but did go again. try putting frozen peas on your wrists a few times to reduce imflammation there and there exercises on you tube tht will help - it SHOULD go in time x ... View more
