Thank you all for your posts.  I am a few weeks post treatment for Grade 1 BC and still finding things quite tricky to deal with.  Reading all you positive comments has really cheered me up.  My upside of cancer - like many of you,  you learn to know who your friends are, and who can be depended on.  My friends organised a rota to take me to the hospital appointments,  because they were adamant that I was not going alone,  even if they couldn't come in with me, due to Covid.  My sister looked after me post op and was absolutely fantastic - it brought us closer together.  Despite the negative press, I was screened, diagnosed and treated during the pandemic.  Whilst I wouldn't want cancer,  I cannot fault the efficiency of the journey.  Hope you are all ok.  x  ... Wooo... we have all flown off, but will still remember our flutterby days. 7 years free now and STILL on letrazole ☹️ But grateful to be here. I wish medics of any sort would think to ask "is there any lasting difference from before you had cancer " or words to that effect! Bless you all. I have retired now! ... View more

sorry to hear yoru news and also the other posts. . my partner and i had only been together 5 months when i had my dx. but we got through them days and then cemo and rads. and come out the other end. he made me feel i was still special and loved. and thats all i really needed. if i cried he would let me have that time but then would say, thats enough now, and i would snap out of it and pick myself up. i know i couldnt have done it all without him. i never knew how he felt about it all really,. as i know it must have been harder for him to watch it all, than for me going through it. i wish that he had told me more how it was affecting him. also my mom had bc 18 months ago, but now has more primary cancer that cant be operated on but is having cemo to shrink it. so i also know what its like to watch people go through it. ive seen both sides of the coin wishing u all all the best, xx and pm if ever need you need chats. xxx ... Hi. Just to let you all now that Mum had her appointment at Bath on Tuesday 16 Nov and met with the onc surgeon. He has told us that Mum has calcification around the tumour and he wanted her to have another Mammogram and a Core Biopsy done on Tuesday too, which we were not expecting. Mum was very brave and went along with all she was asked, although my brother and I had to talk to her as she was having problems understanding what was going on and why. Mum is very hard of hearing, wears two aids and was finding it very difficult and we had to keep her relaxed and calm. Mum was told by the surgeon that if the calcification is extensive then she will have to have a Mastectomy and not a lumpectomy as was previously discussed at Swindon. The Mammogram at swindon did not give clear enough images as they were not digital, that was why she had to have another Mammogram at Bath. We have to go back next Tuesday for the results and hopefully the treatment will start, obviously I now surgery is first but this is all so surreal at the moment. Thank you for all your support.
