I chose "Topper" in 2007 because this was the second time I had had breast cancer ( the first time was 1997) and so it was all "Old Hat". That of course was just bravado, but that was six years ago. I remember it well. I felt so ill whilst taking Tamoxifen. But I didn't realise how unwell until I stopped. Yes six months later I felt ten years younger. It was horrible for me as well. I will always be grateful to this site and to Cecelia for starting the "Terrified" thread which began our friendship. We have all been there to support each other through that awful first year but I think you were the glue that held us together. Oh Sam So sorry you are feeling like this but guess what... Yes the others are dead right... you are absolutely normal. So many of us felt like that as well, expect to feel a bit better soon but it's possible that you may have another blip at sometime but thats normal too. I did at two years stage. (In fact I don't know what I am doing on this site I haven't been on here for ages but am just passing through). My dx was four and a half years ago and I am feeling really well and have done for a couple of years. However I felt so awful for so long with chemo and herceptin and thought it would never end. But it does, and you have your life back, it may be a slightly different life and you never forget this time but it fades away. I made some fabulous friends on this site, four I met up with last week for lunch, we were all going through at the same time and they helped a lot in those early months ( and years). So what I am trying to say is you will feel better but meanwhile expect to feel ropey for a bit longer, expect that and try to spoil yourself a bit.You just have to sit it out. Hope this helps. Hi Cecelia I am back with you after my few days away. I sent Dilys a text this am and she was waiting in the hospital sounded quite upbeat. Hope everything goes as well as it can for her. I guess your weather has cooled down a lot now. I think it is a bit chilly this am. Had a great birthday in Paris. Haven't been for 20 years, gosh it is so expensive now. Lots of sightseeing walking and standing. I am home to rest my poor knees now. Ruby's big day must be very soon I have forgotten the date although she did tell me. Hope all is well with you now. Hi Chums Good news on the date swap Dilys. I know what you mean you do need a little bit of time to gear yourself up. Another week will give you and OH time to put on another 1lb or two. Cecelia I am guessing Minnie is a new pet cat rather than a visiting friend. Stag night !! I hope you were kind to the groom and didn't do too many awful things to him. Celebration yes, as the granny of this group I must confess to the big birthday next week. I went to Paris for my 21st and 40th so I thought it was time I caught up again as I haven't been for so long. A happy holiday to Ruby, so glad all the preparations are going well for the wedding. Hi Dilys Good luck for tomorrow I hope all goes well. I will be thinking of you. Heavens you have got up to 8 and quarter.... That is some serious eating to do to get you up to speed for the next lot. I would be happy to help you out as I have plenty to spare. Glad to hear you are feeling more comfortable at the moment. I think you will need to sit on soft cushions with your weight loss and no park benches. I hope you get to go to the wedding. Poor old George, at least the weather is warm for him you just have to make sure he keeps out of the sun. Yes I have no art classes and no keep fit either but am keeping busy socialising. I had a friend to lunch today and have friends coming to stay for a few days on Thurs. We are off to Paris for my big celebration next week. Then Oh's Mum is coming to stay for a couple of weeks. So no time at all to the end of summer. Hope all is well with Ruby's plans. Hi Ginnyg I had FEC x4 in 1997 and FECx6 in 2007. It was horrible both times! As I had 6 the second time followed by a year of Herceptin ( and ten years older) it did take about two years before I felt fighting fit. However I feel brilliant now (or is it because I'm retired?!)
