Morning Everyone. Hope things are not too bad for you all. Haven't been on site for a little while so need to catch up. I'm slowly feeling better had zometa and then blood transfusion this week am starting to feel a little better. Now having zomorph as well, at the moment have another groin strain so struggling to walk, on ibuprofen for that.  We are going to our son's near London next week and have been told I can go and should go so starting to get excited now. What I wanted to ask is haven't need a wheelchair up to now but could do with a travel one for next week. Can anyone recommend a good one for comfort and lightness. Thank you Wolfie what a strange combination but I will try it. Does it have to be oxo or can it be a different make and is the orange juice fresh juice. Have you checked any recommended hairdressers in your area for your wig. I asked a few normal hairdressers what they thought as there are 2 in my area and 1 came back as excellent has she had experienced the loss of her own hair. My wig was synthetic but you couldn't tell the difference as she cut it just the same to fit the shape of my face and they are easier to look after. Good luck with the chemo xJanetx ... View more

Hi All been for Zometa today but calcium was up again so had to have fluids first then zometa then more fluids but at least I haven't had to stay in. Fingers crossed I won't. No one seems to be able to give me an answer has to why it keeps going back up and how long this may go on for. I'm imagining all sorts of things at mo. They also said my hemaglobin was low today so am having a transfusion on Monday hopefully that will give me a bit of energy back. Am supposed to be going to London on the 20th for a week to spend time with our grandson again. This weekend with him was lovely he's 11 weeks now. Fingers and toes crossed. Morning everyone.  Hugs to those not too well at mo.  I've been poorly with high calcium. Have had to have lots of fluids which in turn meant lots of trips toilet and the medics want you to keep movement up so no catheter to help and I have had pains all over my body different place each day. It's taking forever to get energy back and be able to move without a lot of pain. Have been worried about the bloating around my middle too but went for ultrasound yesterday and ovaries etc are all ok so feeling more positive. Just need to be able to get about by myself again. So what I'm advising is if you're on a treatment that you need to keep your fluid intake up please please do. Don't make my mistake.   Now to mention the happy weekend events that are happening for lots of us too. I know there are a few weddings have fun all of you and relax and enjoy. Everyone else having family visits etc enjoy lots of fuss and hugs. We've got my eldest son wife and new grandson coming for the weekend tonight so getting very excited (must remember to take it easy today so I'm ready). Janette think we all think that the Oncs are missing something it's living with this over us all the time and I don't think they understand. Ladywolf do you need the calcium tablets I've never had them even though at first I was prescribed them. My GP said I just needed a bit more dairy. That was 2 years ago and have never had a drop in calcium. I have too much at mo. So just check whether you actually need them xxJanetxx ... View more

Hi Podry Sorry you're here but as everyone else has said once you get your head round it and a plan things will settle down. I have mets in spine was diagnosed after unrelated pain in knee and bone scan found it 2 years ago. Had nearly reached my 5 years from first diagnosis.  This forum helps you realise there are lots and lots of treatments and someone can usually help. I'm just having a blip at the mo am on letrozole and zometa but wasn't drinking enough so developed high calcium.  Am now slowly on the mend again and just visiting the group even when I don't feel like joining in I know I'm still supported. Hi Jo I only have bone mets in spine diagnosed 2years ago I'm on zometa which is bone strengthening too. Came out of hospital yesterday my calcium is now back within normal range and Onc says not to worry thinking it might be progression its one of those things that happens if you don't have enough fluids. It's been scary and a wake up call for me. So keep the fluids up ladies. Hope you had good results yesterday JulieD. Good luck everyone. Thanks ladies feeling fed up at mo. Why do they have to give your treatment in the middle of the night so you're disturbed and you disturb everyone else. Got my zometa which took all day to set up. Then more fluids but guess what it has been set up at midnight. I know I should be grateful but just at this moment I'm not. Rant over thanks to everyone. Fingers crossed for you FF xJanetx ...
