Just to add thanks to Maria who started this thread 3 years ago and without this group on BCC couldn't have got through these last 3 years. I unfortunately have been through it twice in the last 3 years and finished my last lot of treatment on 12th April. Just thought I'd pop this thread further up..... Have had my 2nd lot of chemo for my recurence today and couldn't get through this journey without all my embarking ladies being there for me.They absolutely understand every emotion I'm going through and are always there with their encouragement and kind words. The other day I received the most wonderful surprise through the post courtesy of these wonderful ladies.I cannot express how wonderful everyone is and how much we all care about each other and had we not had cancer or BCC our paths would never have crossed..how strangely amazing is that !!!!!...what a funny old world..where theres a negative we can also find a positive when our troubles are shared. I was so glad when Maria and gang stretched the hand of friendship out when I was first diagnosed in 2010 and love to see the groups forming on this board. I need to find my place on here but find it hard as I'm TN recurrences but my chemo regime is one that is given to secondaries plus Avastin/Taxol weekly regime isn't used a lot either. ... View more

I had TN originally in just my left breast May 2010(no lymph node involvement,no vascular invasion) and was treated with 6 FEC,WLE and radiotherapy....umfortunately in January this year they found TN cancer in my lymph nodes..it was in 2 /7 then I was given a scan to see if it had spread and they found it in my sub pectoral muscle....after much tooing and frooing they were going to treat me with rads but the crossover of fields was too much(they cancelled my rads the day before I was due to start) so after another couple of weeks they have now decided to start chemo this wednesday....TAXOL/AVASTIN weekly Seems they don't know quite what to do with us as they see so few TN ladies...my onc told me he only has 1 other lady that is T/N and she's doing well on this regime ... Thank you Quail for the kind words.I'm finding it a bit hard to get my head around at the moment as the planning of my treatment has been disgraceful so much so that it has driven me crazy and am still none the wiser yet (but this isn't the thread for that I guess as this is a positive thread)....and there is definitely nothing pink or fluffy about this disease. I was very positive 1st time around even though I was triple negative I never thought I'd get a recurrence.January this year I went for mammo only to find they thought it looked suspicious and who would believe I still don't have a proper treatment plan yet and now have constant fear of it spreading whist they are making their minds up.That is very much the shortened version. ... I'm in the same scary place as you as had my 1st post treatment mammo on thursday and got letter to attend U/S on thursday this morning which basically scared the crap out of me but am glad I've logged on here to find it seems to be quite common still scary none the less..here's hoping for good results ... Am so glad to have found this thread..I had my 1st post treatment mammo thursday and received a letter this morning asking me to go for U/S on thursday and you can imagine the panic since. I do suffer from Lymphodema in my breast as well so didn't know if it was that or something more sinister and of course it's Saterday so no BC nurse to talk to...am still very scared ... View more

Thought I'd better post a comment too seeing as I haven't done for an age. Sandra I hope you get your tummy troubles sorted soon as everything is such a worry. Hope everyone is doing ok on hereand big hugs to you all xxxx My life ...just busyish trying to do day to day stuff and getting stronger by the day. Weight loss going good but have got a very busy 2 weeks coming up appointment wise.... 15th...oncolgist 14.40 17th...surgeon 9am 17th....go to wws 10am 17th.....dentist 14.15 18th....lymphodema clinic 10am 19th....lymphodema clinic 9am 22nd...accupuncture 14.20 23rd...lymphodema clinic 11.00 24th...wws 10am 24th ...lymphodema clinic 12.00 25th...lymphodema clinic 11 am That should keep me out of trouble along with fitting in my other bits and pieces of jobs to be done...lol I would've had lymphodema clinic on 16th and 17th as well but they cancelled those two until I saw the surgeon... Am on long term anti bs to try to keep the infection at bay whilst they do the treatments. ... View more

Hi everyone...just back from my break at Hebden Bridge with SIL.We had a good time whilst there at the festival and popped to Howarth and had a walk at some Craggs. Have today booked a holiday to Torquay for 16th June for DH and myself as think he needs a break. On the breast cancer front...I had a big scare today as my nipple started leaking fluid and as also gone inverted...so rang my BCN and went to see her and my surgeon this afternoon..they think it's an infection from the lymphodema in my breast so I'm back on antibiotics again and they've postponed my lymphodema appointments until it clears up.The surgeon seems to think it will settle...I hope he is right. ... Hi everyone...hope you enjoyed the wedding or had a good day doing something else. Went to see surgeon the other day for check up and he had to drain some fluid off my boob...asked him when I'll get my mammogram and he said after my next appointment in 6 months time...thought I would be getting it around May/June as was diagnosed may but had op in june..my next appointment with him will be 6 months ...my onc appointment will be 3 months away.. Is it normal to have your 1st mammo so long after your op? Have lost 2 stone now but still loads to go. Will be going away to a festival at ened of May with SIL and am looking forward to that.
