Hi im on anastrozole and have lost both big toenails recently,cant remember stubbing them at all,but both have grown back.My physio says my hands and feet are unusually cold and suggested reynauds syndrome which I suppose could be to blame,havent really looked into that at all,just concentrating on side effects of anastrazole which are causing very painful bones and joints.Anyone else having the same problems?? Geraldine,please dont be put off by my experience.My physio said I have 80% movement but I think a lot of the mobility loss is due to being on Anastrazole.I get results of mri scan in a couple of weeks so am hoping he will be able to help me get that mobility back when hes seen the scan result.At the moment all my bones and joints are very painful but the ld construction op itself wasnt entirely to to blame for the immobility I have at present.Like revcat says,everyone is different but your surgeon should advise you on wether you would be able to handle a bike or not,good luck for the op, Di.x ... Hi Lovelyday,18 mths ago i had to look after my dad as he had advanced lung cancer, whilst I was undergoing radiotherapy everyday.It was so tough but I will always treasure those last few weeks with him.Please look after yourself ,I know its hard looking after your dad but you must also take care of yourself and dont try to be superwoman.Sending you my best wishes and prayers for you and your dad, Love Di.x ... Hi,i had LD construction with implants a year ago.I have some weakness on the right side where I had rads and I can't lift anything too heavy.l don't know how strong you have to be to ride a bike but you should expect to get around 80% of your mobility back after a about 6 months recuperation-if you recover to the same extent as I have,obviously everyone is different,I wish you well in your recovery-x Di.x ... Hi jackster,I'm 2 years on and still have low days but the feeling ugly period is now replaced with the worry of secondaries!life will never quite be the same again and even tho I've gone back to work full time I can't do things I used to and feel tired all the time but still when anyone asks how I am I tell them I'm fine! I think sometimes we are our own worst enemy but would anyone be interested if we answered truthfully?I think not.I think though that you are probably at your lowest point and hopefully there is only one way to go and that's up so I just want to wish you well and hope you have as nice a Christmas as possible with the people around you who will give you the support and love that we all need, Love Di. ... All I can say,as a primary,is that the fear I have Of a recurrence,though still strong,doesn't fill me as much fear as it used to and that is because of the ladies on here who are still living their lives some years on from their secondary diagnosis.I take a lot of comfort from these threads and I certainly don't underestimate the devastating consequences of secondary BC having nursed my mum through her final weeks of life.My best wishes go to all BC ladies whether primary or secondary.
