About a year ago, a group of ladies who were due to start chemo in June 2013 got together to form the June Jewels. We have since supported each other through chemo, radiotherapy and for some through surgery after chemo. It has been a long hard slog and we are now trying to get on with our lives, taking things one day at a time, especially with our annual mammograms looming. Two weeks ago, 20 of us enjoyed a fantastic weekend together in York, which seemed a lifetime away when we were all going through chemo. But we made it through the first year and we know that the June Jewels will continue to support each other whatever the future holds. A huge thanks to Breast Cancer Care for making this happen.

Hi Bumble, I agree with the others that it is best to get your lump checked however thought that I would mention that I found a small lump between my armpit and the bend of my elbow while I was in the middle of chemo and was also having physio for cording. The lump had formed at the end of a cord. Over time it did disappear as my cording improved. I did mention it to my ONC who was not concerned but said to keep an eye on it and let her know if it changed in size. Hope you get some reassurance very soon. X

Hi again. I am not too bad thanks, I finished radiotherapy in November and have been on Tamoxifen since mid October, side effects seem to have settled and are mainly limited to a few aches, fingers crossed it stays that way. I was part of the June Jewels thread, most of us have moved onto Facebook and are continuing to support each other on there and this has been invaluable as have the wonderful ladies on the threads which preceded us last year. We have a meet up planned in York at the end of March which we are all looking forward to. Take care.

Jayney good to hear from you but am so sorry that you are having such a rubbish time. For me surgery was far easier than Chemo but i had surgery first so not same situation as you are in now. We are all still here for you though a lot of us use Facebook now. It would be great if you joined us, just send a PM to Chelle (she has posted below). Marion am so pleased that you are graduating tomorrow. Hope it all goes well and your side effects are manageable. And yes I agree it hasn't gone quickly at all, it has been a real hard slog for all of us. Great that you managed to get out for a walk with your ED and GS. Let us know how you get on after your final chemo Marion. Have just been out with SIL for lunch and nearly forgot to take my steriods, remembered at 3pm so hope I sleep ok tonight.
