i saw my Doctor today and after months of tests for tingling in my hands,feet,bottom and back that started in November. He has diagnosed neuropathy bought on by chemotherapy. I had Cisplatin in 1997 and Taxotere in 2009, both can cause Neuropathy I know but it is over 5 years since my treatment!! Fortunately it is getting better but I am worried it could happen anytime again! Has anyone else had Neuropathy years after treatment.

I am having my nipple reconstructed later this month from my own breast tissue. My concern is that I will be going on holiday 8 days after surgery on a cruise, so not near a hospital to get the stitches removed!. has anyone had dissolvable ones? The other option would be to remove them myself?

I have a hard area in mycleavage after my reconstruction. i am not seeing my PS till next month but when I went for a check up with the surgeon who did the mastectomy he said my rib had popped out and this was not unusual! Anybody else had this happen and what they did have done to put it right?

Hope you do not mind me joining in, but just need some advice.
I am having a DIEP reconstruction on 3rd January. It is a one and half hour journey from my home so we are not sure what to do about my husband visiting. He is taking me in the day before the op and doesn't know whether to stay overnight nearby so he can see me in the afternoon/evening after op or will I not be up to visitors?
Can anybody let me know how they felt about having visits in the days after the reconstruction as it is a long journey for him but I dont like the thought of no one coming to see me!?

that worries me that it took you four months to phase back in. I have four holiday cottages which get busy at Easter so lots of cleaning and washing (though I do have cleaners aswell). By the behaves have the op I would have been on the waiting list gor 11 months and there is no guarantee it will go ahead if there is no bed! i really don't know what to do as I don't want to wait a whole year for a new boob! Think I will need time to really mull this over.

I have finally got a date for my DIEP reconstructive surgery. I asked for November but they have given me early January. i asked for November due to my work commitments, I am self employed and November to February is a quiet time for me so having it in January could have a big impact on my job as it is quite a physically demanding job. What i am worried about is how long the recovery will be? Can anyone shed any light on how long before they were driving and doing their housework?!

Sorry to hear it but I am so glad I am not the only one!
Had a bad few days altho feel better today but now my back has gone.
My husband keeps trying to reassure me it will take time but like Sandra I have a physical job and I find it so frustrating that is exhausts me and I just want to cry with pain and frustration!
The silly thing every time i have a bad week or two I panic, then I suddenly feel fine again and I think of all those wasted days panicking!
Will look into liver-loving diet as I dont want this to carry on any longer.

It is six months after i finished 5xtaxotere, I'm not on anything now.
But I feel dreadful, tired,aching (especially shoulders and neck and arms),headaches, nausea just how I felt on chemo.
Dr's done blood tests but shows nothing up. Anyone else felt like this or is it in my head?!

I have also had a sticky boob for the last 3 weeks and totally agree it is really great, it feels more part of me than the ones you put bin your bra.
Just be warned taking them off is not pleasant.
Ask your breast care nurse, mine got me one for free.

Just wanted to say i finished chemo in Feb, hair has come back grey and curly, what a shock!
This was second time i have had chemo as it was a reoccurance and last time when my hair grew back it was straight so was expecting the same.
The grey bits got to me, so i bought an organic dye from a health shop but realised it was not permanent! so went to hairdressers and they dyed it 3 weeks ago with an organic permanent dye and it is great!!! But curly!

Have been following topic on fybromyalgia and wonder if i have got that? It does get you down and i really dont know how much rest and how much excersize i should do and seem to be living on painkillers.

It is 4 weeks since i had my last chemo (5 x taxotere), and i ache more now than when i was undergoing treatment. It is mainly my legs, sometimes all over. Just walking upstairs, getting out of the bath/bed takes huge effort!
Did look at taxotere website and one of side effects they mention is myalgia. I guess this what i might have, but want to know when it will go, feel like i cannot move forward emotionally til i can actually move forward!
Anybody else had this? How long was it before your legs were back to normal?

Thanks for comments,I have told them my concerns and the nurse is going to speak to consultant. I am hoping they might get consultant to talk to me direct but not expecting it!!! It feels a bit like chineses whispers.

i'm meant to be having my sixth and final taxotere on thursday but just had a call from hospital to say they wont be going ahead, as i am having increasing problems with tinnitus and hearing loss in one ear. i feel i should be pleased but i'm not, just confused. surely it is better to live with ear problems than cancer?
Has anyone else had their treatment stopped early and what did they do? not sure if i should insist on them giving me the last one or not?
