Also try some bicarbonate of soda dissolved in a small amount of warm water at night - I know that helped other people. Good luck - it used to drive me mad at night .   ... View more

Been having a terrible time with tamoxifen.  My mother had breast cancer and took Nolvadex (brand name tamoxifen), which it seems is better tolerated.  My oncologist prescribed Fareston but I'm afraid to try it.  I noted that someone on this board tried Soltamox--band name liquid tamoxifen.  Anyone have experience with this drug?  Thanks! ... Just found out that my tumor was strongly er receptive so I have to have rads. No chemo tho. And tamoxifen for as many years as they say. I was scared to take the tamoxifen for a couple of days because of the so called side effects. I stopped the hrt in October when the cancer was discovered and have been having the hot flashes and on the first day of taking the tamoxifen my eyes blurred in the evening. Only on day 2 now and the hotness is about the same, but i feel tired today and noticed I am going to the loo more often. Elsie, hope you managed to enjoy Xmas in the end. Malt. Can't fault your taste! Islay malts are my fav. Have you been to Islay? The whisky tastes like the island, truly. Salty, peaty, you can hear the sea against the shore, feel the brine in the wind on your face. I adore it! No district nurse for me. I have to go up to the hospital each time. And yes, still micro tape and a plastic dressing to go. I think they come off next Tuesday. I'm with you all the way on the boxing gloves front.
