Hi there, I too had wine when I was having chemo.  Nobody said anything to me about not having any and it did seem to keep me feeling 'normal'.  Well as normal as you could feel whilst having chemo. 🙂 My best advice is to try and keep to your normal routine as much as you can. Hi jems, Am so glad for your Rhonda.  I dont like this new website I couldnt find anything on it.  Oh well, have to get used to it I suppose.  I dont like my hair so short but at least it is growing.  It grew back black and silver, used to have long blondish colour hair so big difference.  My niece coloured it for my yesterday so at least no grey now.  Am going back to work on 2 September so things will start to get back to normal.  My toenails have starting falling off now.  I also cannot seem to lose any weight am on Tamoxifen so dont know if its that.  How is everyone else doing.  Dont come on here so much anymore.  Love Lee X ... Morning Jems Yes Rhonda just wanted to say like Irenee that am sure lump will be harmless. Hope you enjoy Bali and have lots of lovely cocktails and put this out of your mind for your holiday. You certainly deserve it. We have just booked our flights to South Africa for a month over Christmas and new year to be with my family (cant wait). I too have finished 20 lots of rads and now hair is growing back and so are eyebrows and eyelashes (yippee ). I too have developed mild lymphodema in left arm and have compression sleeve to wear Rowenna but is seems only to swell up when doing gardening or heavy lifting etc. Starting to feel more like my old self day by day, but a lot more of me now than there was before. Hi ThinLizzie, I had to have an MRI scan after my mammogram, scan and biopsy and agree the waiting is the worst ever. I think it is good that they do this as it shows a much clearer picture of what is going on/or not. Once I was given the results I found it easier to deal with than the waiting. I have just finished chemo and radiotherapy which ended last week. It certainly has been a long hard battle but I can now see some light at the end of this rollercoaster. My family live overseas as well and this forum and support from others in same situation was a lifeline to me. I also enjoyed the wine even through chemo and rads. Hi Jems, Hope everything went okay for you today Morwenna, winging positive thoughts your way. Chemo every week must be tiring and hard to deal with (big hugs), as you can see we are all thinking of you. Yvonne good luck for Friday and then only one to go. Rhonda you are an inspiration, op Monday and back at work Friday, certainly one strong lady. I started rads today, it went okay but for some reason I felt really panicky about it. I have developed peripheral neuropathy in my feet and they are swollen along with ankles and legs. The onc said today that it is from the taxotere and hopefully will improve. Morning Jems, Sorry to hear you were in hospital Caroline, hope you feeling better now. How did your last chemo go Jenny? Good luck for next Wednesday Gay (same as my last one yippee) I have no hair at all and the little eyelashes I had left have disappeared after the Tax. I dreamt I had my long hair back last night and then looked in mirror (ugh). I scared the postman this morning with baldy head (he couldnt look at me). I saw a lady in Tesco who had a bald head and I thought how brave she was as I always wear my wig when I go out, I am not very confident at the moment. Morning Jems, Good luck today Rhonda and CONGRATULATIONS on crossing the finish line (YIPPEE) . I have 2nd Tax tomorrow and last one on 8 May. The onc said after last chemo it is between 6-8 weeks before radiotherapy starts (I thought it should be 31 days). Anyway I am having 4 weeks of rads. Does anyone know, do they do scans or anything to check all okay when treatment finished or not. Morwenna, my breast surgeon was male and my onc is female. Morning jems, Caroline I have also got lobular cancer grade 3 and was told it was more likely to come back, but have not been offered a mastectomy. I wonder why we all have different treatment etc. I have not posted for a while but have been lurking on here. I had my first taxotere on 27 March and have never felt so bad with all of the FEC. The stomach and body pains were terrible and I never slept for 5 nights. I thought I couldnt take another two of these tax but I feel okay this week so guess will just have to carry on. Morning Jems, Yvonne I also got chest infection and ended up in hospital. Chemo delayed last week. Bloods tomorrow so hopefully be okay for Wednesday. Saw Onc on Friday and she sent me for more tests, was at hospital from 4.15 until midnight which was horrible. Had blood test from artery in wrist which was so painful (never had one of those before). Poor arm is so bruised. Anyway am feeling so depressed at moment, chemo is definately not for wimps. I am having Fec and then Tax, I dont know why we are having different chemo. I think someone said on other thread, it had to do with lymph node involvement (Im not sure maybe got that wrong). Hi jems, Glad you okay Sarah, pizza sounds delicious. No they didnt do the chemo yesterday because infection is still luking. It has been put off until next Wednesday 27. Oh well they know best. Morning Jems, I have just read the all the posts from Jems (Rhonda, Peagreen and KG) who have had their first tax cyle and the SE's sound horrible. Is it worse than FEC? I should be having first Tax on Wednesday if bloods okay. Had injection in stomach in hospital on Thursday as bloods were bit low. Morning Jems, Hope everyone okay as it is very quiet. Good luck for monday jenny. I have been in hospital as my temperature went up to 38.9 and felt very unwell. I had to have lung xray and it seems have infection. I have been on constant IV antibiotics. Let out yesterday afternoon on parole (yippee). The antibiotics really hurt my arm and it is red and swollen where the cannular (dont know how to spell it) was. Dont know whether will be able to be poisoned on Wednesday will have to wait for bloods on Tuesday. The things we have to put up with. Anyway hope all Jems are okay and have good weekend. Lee X ...
