Hi, my name is Jess, I'm Jacqui's daughter. I'm sad to say that my mum passed away yesterday at the Countess Mountbatton Hospice. It was a gradual decline and she seemed happy and comfortable up to the end.   I know that she found your support invaluable throughout her illness and she often told me how much she enjoyed meeting with you for coffee, cake and a moan. I would like to thank you all on her behalf for your support.   Her funeral will be held at the Hampshire Sustainability Centre on Wednesday 28 January at 11:30. finished a run of 5 sessions for brain tumour.  the mask was an interesting experience.  no horrible s.e.  hair is much thinner so tend to wear wig.  sleep a lot at moment but that is slowly gettin better. a bit sickness and some head pian.  the steroids hepl to control this along wit extra drugs.  nothing to be afraid of.  pm me if like Love Jacquixxx   ... HI Ladies - it was nice to see you.  Apologies for total blankness. seemed to go through a strange phase where people spoke to me but I could not understand what they were talking about - it was like being in the early stages of alzhiemers.   Finished radiotherapy treat and have just escaped Southampton Hospital. Picked up a chest infection so had 10days of i.v. antibiotics.  seem to be wanting to sleep for England. Apparently this is standard.  hair is dropping out all over the place so getting fitted for a wig tomorrow.   I will try to pull somethig together soonish. Hi Ladies, hope all is going for you.  specialy Nicky - did your portacath go in OK?  Have you got a date for starting your chemo yet?  All this hanging around is so frustrating isn't it.   I spoke to an onc last Friday.  Basically I do have a brain met so now have another appointment to discuss radiotherapy on Thursday.  The onc thinks it is too big for stereotactic but he will discuss this with the radiology consultant.  I am not too keen on having whole head.  However I do know that rads are very effective - the SE's are ususually over in about 6 weeks - so I should be OK for Christmas. Must confess to having been feeling pretty ill lately.   Nicky and I are both very up in the air with when and where treatments are going to happen so I am just going to put up a date etc.  And just come if you can.  Sorry to stick with same venue but everyone seems to like it and know how to get there - we can sort something else out another time.  Remember you can alway ort out your own informal get togethers.   So here goes: FRIDAY 29TH AUGUST 2014.  13.00 TIFFINS TEAROOMS ALRESFORD.   Takecare - don't get blown away by Bertha Love Jacquix ... Hi Nicky   I will be around on the 8/7/14.  May need a lift but I think Ian can do this.  Also don'at know what is happening treatment wise yet - will by next Wednesday but my guess is surgery.   Possible venue - Twyford about 1mile from junction 11 on the M3 (Winchester south) there is a nice litttle place called the 'Bean Below' sort of under the village shop.  There is a carpark next door and ususally spaces outside.  Inside and outside seats.  I am sure they have a website - I will look it up and post if you are interested as a group.   Happy Birthday for next week Mara - I am sure there will be mamny more.  I guess we are one set of people who willl not be grumbling about gettin older. Hi fors - thanks for offeringto sort out dates especially with all you have on at the moment - hope they sort out dates for chemo ASAP so that you can get going and finished.     My brain is a bit befuddle in more ways than one.  Had a lot of headaches and sickness starting last Friday.  Got sent for a CT and there is a tumour there.  As there is only one there are 3 posibities - it is in the meneges (spelling) so it cold simplybe benign menegioma, it could be new primary or the first of the BC mets popping up.  I am going to have an MRI tomorrow which will help them to get a definite diagnosis.  Ttreatment wil then be discussed with te multi-disciplinary team next Tuesday and I will have treatment options.  currently back on big doses of steriods which have helped with the pain also on a new anti - sickness drug which is going a long way towards controlling that.  Lost 7lbs since last Friday - probably mostly fluid as my odema has reduced (a silver lining).  Anyway by the middle of next week all be be clear.  All a bit of a pain in the backside to be honest.   As I don't know what is happening not sure if i will join this monthor not but will sort out September unless someone else is brave enough to do it.   hope all is going OK for the rest  of you.   Enjoy the sunny days - love Jacquix ... Hi Folks   I will be around most of August.  A couple of us did discuss a coffee - shared lunch sort of thing at my place but feel this may be a bit ambitious as I am feeling very tired and bit out of sorts at the moment.  Sorry to disappoint, however this poorly patch will pass.  Waiting for kidney function checks as fluid retention is getting worse.  The doc has put me on diueretics so it is all a bit rush and flush in the mornings.     It would be lovely if someone else would sort out the August date as I must confess to getting a bit stale. Hi there I am pleased that everyone had a good time at the last meet-up despite missing both Liz and Vicky and it was lovely seeing new faces.   The general feeling was that the last session worked so a well a repeat is in order so Sharon will save oour tables for us again - she felt we gave the place a nice lively atmosphere. So the next meetup will be  FRIDAY 3/7/2014  at 13.00 venue as before                                TIFFINS TEAROOMS, WEST STREET, NEW ALRESFORD.   I have not forgotten about the email list and will send that out ASAP.  Benn a bit busy having just had my evening with Carlos last Friday.   Think I am just recovering.  I can honestly say it takes longer and is far more stressful getting to Kensington London than Utrecht Holland.  However it was worth it  - his frappes my dears are a wonder to behold!.  No doubt I will tell you all about it on the 3/7.   Sorry about your setback Nicky - you seem to be taking it very stoically.  It is good that it was picked up so early nd now you have the herceptin.   Hope everyone else is keeping as well possible and look forward to seeing as many as possible soon.   Love Jacquix ...
