Hi Stargate re your message.  Yes I was taking a Chemo tablet but it hasn’t worked so jus have the injection in my arm for the bones, results from last MRI were not good more Tumoursin my Thorax, Oncologist has recommended Chemo on the drip and has given me 6 weeks to come to a decision 😩 can’t make up my mind I am 77 now and feel that my body won’t take it, anyway I just keep going like we all do on here. Hello! I wanted to check in and see how you are feeling now. Has the pain subsided?   I'm in the exact same boat--stage 1 in 2013 with bilateral mastectomy. stage 1 recurrence in 2018 at the 5-year celebration mark. stage 1 recurrence in 2019 with redo of the mastectomy. I've chosen strength over length to be fully present emotionally to my family. Now the new oncologist has made a logical case for tamoxifen based on his concern for distant recurrence. But I am strong and love life. And...EVERYONE I know on the drug has significant pain but the studies still only mention 10% of women struggling with joint pain. Hi Angie, I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I think initially when we get the diagnosis of secondary it’s perfectly acceptable to be down. I cried everytime I told anyone about it. And yes being on holiday and having a lot of time to think about it sometimes doesn’t help cause you get all worried and fearful and start crying all over again! I did my best to keep busy and not have too much time to think. It’ll be 2 years this coming April from my initial diagnosis. Yes a lot have changed but Thank God I’m still working, cooking, screaming at my child over something silly she did! Life’s almost normal. But yes there’s the medication, the scans n Dr visits. But I try to focus on family and friends, work and look for strength from God. I’m blessed with a lot of support from family and great friends. We plod on. God bless you and prayers to you. ... I’m on 3 weekly zoledronic acid, pertusamab and herceltin.  I was tried in Denosumab but was allergic to it.  I found the pain started to ease after awhile but ?I still have bone pain due to the mets.  There isn’t any reason to stay in pain though,  various meds can really help.  If you haven’t bonded with your macmillan nurse, speak tou your GP or oncologist, or even the nurses on the day unit ward.   All of them have been very helpful for me.   You certainly are not alone and there are so many support organisations that .im sure there will be someone local.  Breast Cancer Care do local sessions where you can meet others living with cancer and they provide some great information. i hope you can find some local support and relief from the pain soon love liz ... no fries thanks I know just what you mean. This thread has calmed me, particularly in the days before my treatment plan was in place. There are so many new treatments available; google is way out of date so don’t browse is my advice! Hi new ladies I was diagnosed straight in with secondaries in Feb last year but once you have a treatment plan you will feel better and more hopeful. Hi, my veins are shot too. I had a ct and the flush wouldn't go through so my arm blew up like a balloon. Scared the pants off the radiographer, it was a touch painful but like you say, more concerned about the dye. Hope all goes well. ☺ ... View more
