Hi all. Not been here for a while. But good to hear that in the main everyone is ok. It was year ago that I finished chemo thank god and yes cybelle it is a little like a nightmare. Still **bleep** myselfvevery now and again but trying to remain positive. My surgeon said to try and think of myself as someone who had cancer. I found that quite useful. She also said most women say it takes 2 years to feel normal again. Anyway love to you all xxxxx

Hi all. Not had a chance to catch up on everything,,,,but just popping in to send my love,,,,, Cress - let us know how your results are......I'm 4 weeks away from recon. be glad to get surgery out the way. Hoping they take all my stomach away so that i end up like an ironing board!!!! And will be good to have smaller boobs! might even run for a bus in the new year! On the subject of hair; I look like my dad! love to all xxxxx

Hi All Work ok but I think I'm getting a cold as feeling pretty rubbish. Thanks Lisalow and Cress. And QD like you, not very phased - if you're back, you're back> Cress I know some sign language but not sure it's authentic, you know the two fingers type of sign language!!! Sorry - couldnt resist! xxxx My mammogram came back clear so that's good and I'm booked in for recon 2nd december as well as reduction on remaining one. So, i get new tits and a tummy tuck for christmas.......I WILL get into my old jeans!!!! It's lovely that we're all still in touch. Love to all xxxx

Hi OO's Just poping in from last December's thread. I remember so well how scared I was about everything. Chemo isnt great but it's totally doable. Make sure you have all the meds you can get. And be kind to yourself. drink as much (water!)as you can and try and get as much fresh air as possible. It will make you feel better. You will find this forum immensly helpful. Remember the effects build up so you may feel more exhausted as things go on. And be prepared for heightened emotions. I wasnt aware that I would have emotional phases after the steroids finished on each session......I soon worked out a pattern and that made me feel better as I could prepare for it and rationalise it. Good luck. Take it easy and try not to expect too much. I have only just gone back to work today, 12 months almost to the day that I was diagnosed. Lots of love. M

Hi All Not been in for a while.... went back to work today! Very wierd!!! im meant to be phasing in but am on 6.30am train to London tomorrow..... doesnt feel very phased to me.... I wasnt looking forward to it but guess it might take my mind of cancer and the awful panics i have...went to doctors tonight as have had a lump in my throat. it;s a cyst apparently and is very common. probably wouldnt have noticed it before but now have severe paranoia! hope everyone else doing ok..... sorry not up to speed with all posts but sending all my love. xx

HI there... Hope you are all well. I booked my annual mammogram. It's next week! Can't believe it has been a year. I still feel so tired and battered. Does anyone else feel really shattered? I'm planning on going back to work in October on a phased return. I think it Then I'm hoping for my reconstruction which I'm having in Leeds in November so will have another 6 weeks off! It's a lovely day and I'm off to try and shake off my feeling sorry for self!!! I should be pleased that it's nearly all over. Big hugs to all ......... Mxxx

Yeah wish I'd have been there too! Sounds hilarious. Saw surgeon. She's referring me to plastic surgeon to make my new tit from my stomach. I'd say he'd have to be a magician! As my stomach is more like a barrel! Actually doing (sort of) the 5 + 2 diet and think I am slowly loosen weight. Anyway- think they're gonna do it mid november and then reduce and uplift (yay!) the other one. Mammo is booked in for 3 weeks. I'm getting sone very strange emotions as it was around this time that I found lump last year. I went to a Restaurant today that I went to a year ago and i was really anxious. Just need to all get to 5 years! Oh and gene testing came back negative. X lots of love all xx

Have a great meet up all. And hope the mammo isn't too painful Cress! I'm seeing surgeon tomorrow evening to discuss recon. Went to doctors today and have a throat infection. He said lymph nodes swollen in neck. Felt sick. When are we going to be able to get a simple ailment without worrying that it's something sinister???? Anyway apart from feeling sh&t am actually beginning to feel quite positive (today that is!) Cress thanks for moving my post. Was beginning to feel like Billy no mates as there were 0 replies! Have I actually got to the right place? Cress I pm'd you too. Don't think I'll make Thursday. Got loads in with kids and don't get back from hols until Tuesday. If I don't this time will deffo make next time. Hope all crackers ok. Can you believe we're all getting to a year past diagnosis? I can't. Still feel pretty rubbish . Cress, I totally, totally get where you are coming from. I've just had a really harsh text from a friend saying I havecto be more positive, comparing me to people who had had car accidents or tough childbirths. They're ok now, which is great but they also don't have the threat of secondaries or reoccurrence. I suppose it will get better with time. It's proven that potentially we could all be suffering from PTSD!!!!

I triple negative so can't blame on tam or any other hormone therapy.however GP could even use speculum fosmear test as soooo painful.xxxx surely this has to get better. xxxxxx

Not sure if it is chemo or menopause brought on by chemo but something is not right?!?

Hi Sally. I was diagnosed last October with grade 3 IDC TNBC. It was the most frightening experience of my life. I had an mx, chemo then rads. And am hoping for recon by end of year. The treatments are doable As everyone says. Not great but doable and frankly the time does fly. Make sure you are well prepared in advance. I went to see my GP prior to chemo and had meds for every eventuality. Rest and be kind to yourself. I struggled emotionally and cried a lot but I think that was due to the amount of steroids and the chemo itself so be prepared! Also don't expect too much too soon. Use this forum. There are many amazing women who share their wealth of experience. It really helps to know you're not alone. Sadly. Hopefully your results will be the best they can be and you can kick cancer where it hurts. All the best. Mx

Thank you libran lady. not a day goes by when I don't have sad thoughts. When I look at my young children I still wonder if I will be here to see then grow. And I am scared. But your word's make me feel better and like I can and will pass this and emerge a better and stronger person. I just pray for good health for us all. Xxx
