Good afternoon Angels from a wonderfully warm and sunny Norwich. Well 3 weeks today we shall all be arriving in Manchester for our reunion, who would have thought it this time last year! I am so excited. To be meeting you all and hopefully all those who have not made it will make next years!!!!!! Hello Angels, well I have finally booked my tickets and will also be arriving into Piccadilly at around 2.30 so shall wait for the rest of you. Very exited to be finally meeting you all, plus I can also catch up with some of my mates from the years I lived here. I had my hair dyed bright red on Friday! Well I am back from a holiday in Liechtenstein, where another of my many sisters live?I've eaten so much that I think I have put on at least a stone! Although I feel great in myself, my energy levels remain a bit rubbish. I know many of you are struggling with returning to work, but I think I must have had a very mad moment..... I have got a new job as a school vaccination nurse for the county.i start back tomorrow to do all my mandatory training then start officially at the end of the month. Good evening Angels, it's been a long time since I wrote on here, but I have been keeping up with everyone's news. I don't feel my brain functions so well now and still find it hard to remember who has said what on here so I will just say to you all, your doing great and keep at it, I'm triple negative, so not on tamoxifen or Herceptin, but I am having huge problems with sleeping, and back and arm ache, other than that I'm doing ok. Really looking forward to our weekend, the time just flies only another 8 weeks. Still trying to sort out the finer points of my retirement, which is never simple and I'm off visiting another sister in 3 weeks, this time in Liechtenstein, unfortunetly don't have the energy to ski but am sure I can partake in the apree ski. Judy, will you be around the week of the 17th feb? It's just that we will be up in Yorkshire and will be popping over to the Harbour Bar in Scarborough for ice cream sundae, would be nice to meet up. Hi Angels, just catching up on all your news and views. So sorry to here that so many of you are still having on going problems post treatment. Angie, you pains sound very much like mine last year. I think if you have them again I would be inclined to go to A&E as they have so many more diagnostics than the GP. I actually got my medical retirement on the damage to my arms from surgery and and chemo. My arm from the surgery was absolutely fine until I had the radiotherapy and now have much reduced movement and the other side has been so badly damaged from the chemo that I have to wear long sleeved clothes as it freaks people out. All that said mentally I feel just great thank god. Although did have a wobble the other week when I threw out last years calendar. It really struck home looking at months and months of hospital appointments. I think in real terms it is still early days and there is no right way to recover apart from your own way. Afternoon Angels, As I have said many a time, I really admire all of you that have gone back to work, you've done so well. I am still awaiting the result of what is happening with me. Capita are currently running over 2 months over there contracted time, so am feeling rather miffed at them 😞 I few thoughts here regarding the aches and pains! I have had to go onto Gabepentin for my chemo damaged arm, consequently I have had to stop Lanzoprazole, strangely the aches and pains I had a lot of have disappeared! not from the new painkiller as I stopped taking the Lanzoprazole 2 weeks before starting the gabepentin!!! So just wondering if all of you suffering from these aches and pains are still taking it? As far as the tufty look count me in as well, I have to use a hair putty to keep it tamed and it is coming back curly and really thick. Hello my truly Awesome Angels, Well I have returned from my soirée to Ireland, which has totally recharged my batteries. Being with some of my sisters and nieces and nephews was just great. Have been catching up on all the posts and really sorry to here of your problems with your step son Angie and being stuck in the middle Judy.dont worry Mel the antidepressant will soon kick in and you will start to feel better. We have all been through so much this year, I think we must all be different from this time last year, I know I certainly have.whilst I'd have preferred not to have experienced breast cancer, I have completely changed my way of thinking and my priorities have changed. My family have also changed because of it, and have seen the best in so many people, but also the crass way I have been treated by my managers at work. Good evening Angels, hoping your all doing ok! Sandy, hope your blood count comes up this week 😞 . I hadn't really thought about the comedy club, but do agree with you that we will all have so much to talk about that that the comedy club would impinge on our time. The world food sounds good as well, but to be fair I like all food except tripe! Well my hair is growing really fast, and it's going curly..... Anyone one else with different hair. My eyelashes and eyebrows are also back to normal if not thicker, so I'm well pleased. I'm off tomorrow to Ireland, to see my sisters and cousins. This is my first biggish trip on my own since I was diagnosed, and I'm really excited. I didn't bother with any different insurance as my yearly one covers all emergencies as does the E111 so fingers x. Onwards and upwards angels xxx ... View more

Roz, there is a travelodge in Didsbury at Parrs wood which I have used on occasions with plenty of resturants and pubs nearby. It's just down the road from where I used to live and buses and trains directly into Manchester, perhaps worth checking out? It's also close to all the major routes coming into Manchester. The Herceptin injections sound really good in comparison to the infusions, but still only at certain hospitals I understand. Shame that we are still relying on a postcode lottery 😞 ... View more

Good evening Angels, Sandy I'm glad your feeling better than last week and hopefully the neutrophils start behaving. I know. What you mean about the time flying, April seemed so far away and it's creeping up now, less than a month before Christmas. I'm happy to go with whatever everyone wants to to. My aches and pains are just getting worse at the moment 😞 my chemo damaged arm is just constantly aching and the area of radiotherapy and left arm now are more restricted. Now on gabepentin ( start tonight ) and am back to physio in 2 weeks. Is anyone else having these problems, or is it just me? Other than that feel great mentally, and really looking forward to going to see my sister next week. Angie, glad to here your going au naturale. I haven't worn anything on my head since before I finished chemo. Today though for the first time since April I woke up with a bed head!!!! Looked so funny! only trouble is now it's getting really cold and I don't like a cold head so just wear a beany hat when I'm out. Hello lovely Angels. It's been a while since I wrote, but have been keeping upto date with all your posts. Amber, some people are just so ignorant they are not worth worrying about, still unbelievable how crass they can be. Carol and Angie, I still have a lot of problems with aches and pains particularly in my arms and hands which wake me up at night. I joined a gym the week before last and went swimming and did 4 lengths, compared to 40-60 I would have done pre diagnosis. I could barely move for 3 days which really surprised me, but shall persevere. Roz, will hopefully get to see you in Winterton in the near future, will message you. I am up for the 2 nights, meal and comedy club. So looking forward to this, it should be a real boost for everyone. I'm still awaiting the outcome for my medical retirement! capita and ATOS are appalling, this should have been sorted out by last month. I will be going on pensionable pay at the end of this month. It's easier for me in someways as I do not have a choice as am no longer fit enough to do my previous job. Let's hope it gets sorted soon.
