Morwenna, I'm so sorry one if your teammates has had recurrence, something we all worry about & pray won't happen again to us. You are going so well with all your events for fundraising, the dragon boat racing would be such fun. We have similar events and walks for a cure here in Australia in case you forgot that's where I live LOL I always sponser my friends in these walks & events, but as I always work weekends in my business I can never partake in them. Hi Sarah, Caroline, Irenee & Morwenna, nice to hear from you all to keep up with your progress, sorry Morwenna you are getting so stuffed around with your recon dates. It's nearly 2 yrs since we were all diagnosed, one would have hoped that this journey would be behind us all but sadly we still have a long way to go 😞 my recon side is a lot smaller than my real boob so I'm having to put a push up in my bra to make them both look symmetrical , I haven't gone for nipple re-con, can't face more surgery. My surgeon has recently been sued by 3 women and he has had to pay out hugely to all as they won there cases against him for botched up reconstructions, so I have lost faith in him. Hi everyone, I hope your all doing well, staying healthy and enjoying life. A very brave decision Caroline, I hope your feeling OK and recovering well from the new surgery. I had a scan, Mammo & blood tests last week, got the all clear yesterday for another 6 months. Reconstructed side is no better still have cording a mild capsular contracture, my surgeon say's it's not worth the risk of replacing the implant as it could happen again & risks infection, so I just have to put up with the tightness and uncomfortable feeling. A quick message to say HELLO to you all, you seem to be keeping very busy & doing amazing things, so much happening, hard to keep up with you all. Good luck Morwenna for Dec. think positive I'm sure it will be OK also Irenee and Chris with your reconstructions coming up, I'm sure you will all go great and end up with a gorgeous set of boobs 🙂 it will be great for you all to be finished. Thinking of you too Sarah and Jan and hope your doing alright. My latest Blood test show high sugar, so need to have a GTT glucose tolerant test next week and showed low VIT D still, even though I take it daily, I need to treble my dosage, I still have re-construction breast tightening pain and underarm cording issues, but otherwise doing fine. Morwenna I'm sure whatever type of recon you choose it will be right for you, good luck with everything, Caroline yay Herceptin is finished, sorry your implant didn't work. Sarah my implant side feels hard and very unnatural too and stands straight out, my pointer one, but I'm happy enough with it, I feel it's better than having nothing there, I'm more than happy with my reduction lifted up one , it looks 30 years younger, shame I don't LOL both nice sized D cups. Still got underarm cording issues, and joint pain from letrozole Femara, but other than that enjoying life to the Max and working hard in my business. Hi Irenee &Rose so great to hear from you both, sorry Irenee your hubby has been unwell, I do hope he gets better soon, not long to you both get your reconstructions, Good luck with this & I hope they turn out great, as much as I am happy with mine it is still very hard and stands straight out, I have to be carefull hugging people that I don't stab them with it hahaha just cuddle on my squishy one. I still have the underarm cording issue that just doesn't seem to improve no matter how much I excercise it. I know exactly how you would have felt Rose waiting for those results such a sickening feeling so glad you got good results like me, I get the lymphodemia in my shoulder blade going down to behind my under arm and wear a sexy constrictive after surgery bra to bed 🙂 each night. This has helped a bit. It's great your back at work again, and getting on with all the things you enjoy. Thanks for getting back to me girls it was great yo hear how you both are going. Hiello all you beautiful Jems, just wondered if any of you ever come back to see if any of us have been on here, would love to know how you are all doing. I had a big scare last week new lump in my good boob, ultrasound Biopsy... Waiting for results is just so scary as you all know, results back yesterday confirmed a 12mm fat lobule... Thank God for that I can breath again... Other than that all is good and I'm enjoying life again, had my first haircut that was exciting they cut out all my curls I looked like a poodle LOL I now like it really short... Hugs to you all. Sarah they didn't check my implant side either, and just said come back for another Mammo on the real one in 1 yr, think I'd like it checked 6 monthly but maybe I'm just paranoid. I had my implant side ultrasounded last month as I felt a lump which turned out to be fat necrosis like scar tissue. We just have yo stop worrying get on with life & enjoy & pray the evil disease is a distance memory never yo return.
