Hi Namaste  Glad you're  back  and recovering- i remember  the drains too well, carrying  them around in a fetching  floral bag! It is a short phase however.  I found it hard being in the  Princess  Royal although medical treatment  really good and much preferred being tended to by the community nurses who were great - a vital service to maintain.  Anyway  keep  doing the exercises and i really  hope  you  get  the  news you want on Thursday. Everyone  very quiet on here so hope you  are all enjoying  the  summer.   We have son and girlfriend  on a visit from US  which  is  lovely  but I am a bit sad to have cancelled  a planned trip to see  other son in South  America.  I have lost  a lot of confidence in myself, life etc etc which I am trying hard to get back.  Surprised  it has gone on so long. Hi Sarah It is really good to be able to share this stuff and quite odd that several of us are getting similar issues at the same time.  Still sore from hysteroscopy and waiting for results in a couple of weeks.   Had 2 polyps removed. The docs seem pretty relaxed so I am not worried. Like you I haven't told many people, just my husband and a couple of friends.  I don't tell my children now nor my parents any of this because I don't want to worry them and I think that most other people just think that it is all in the past now so I tend to keep quiet.  Other people want to put a line under it but we know it's just not like that.  Anyway, we shall continue being there for each other. Hi Sarah Hope you are ok, I know it is stressful but we need to be reassured that they check it all out.  Like Rachel,  it turned out impossible to get to my womb for the biopsy so I will be having a general anaesthetic for this in the next two weeks.  Rachel goes first though! I am up and down, mostly up, but down when I feel I can't move away from it all. Don't want this to interfere with my tamoxifen- despite hot flushes I am really keen to take it. Generally I feel better now than ever -since treatment started. It was lovely to see Aly,  Suzanne and Rachel and be able to laugh as we remembered having to inject our tummies! Sarah- my symptom was spotting too.  My appointment was brought forward to today and I had the scan, womb lining 15 mm.   They do not seem concerned as this is what tamo does. Will have hysteroscopy to make sure, which is the procedure I am a bit worried by.  But will not have until returned from holiday in May. They are looking after us well, but I had the scan on the same ward where I had my mastectomy and it brought back how distressed I was then.  Still also shows how far we have come. Oh Rachel isn't it maddening! I was told had womb thickening due to tamoxifen.  I am really hoping to continue with tamoxifen because I feel it is what will save me from cancer so worried about this.  Please let me know how gynae appt goes and if it is difficult,  I have appt on Thursday. Hi Sarah I realised i have got a sample of your book " Brain after chemo" on my kindle but genuinely can't remember how it got there! So my memory is still awful and i feel I have to keep checking any type of information because I can't trust myself to recall it. The London date was suggested by some on Facebook but has not been followed up yet so will definitely come on here with information about it if looks to be happening.     Marie, pleased to hear the swelling improving and you can relax about work now. Like you I have been sent to gynaecology following some minor spotting last week - felt I had to report it and have been fast tracked for investigation. So fed up to be hauled back in again and worried about appointment this week as I know you found it painful. Do I need a sedative of some sort? Did they give indication on the day if anything of concern or is there  a wait ? So want to get away from hospitals! Hi Sarah- really pleased your scan was clear. I still feel my brain is less efficient than before- memory and ability to concentrate or follow things.I don't think it's just getting older ! Jo -Marie is very wise, you need to get through the funeral first and then re-assess- tough times though. It's odd about Christmas - I have just met up with a friend who was diagnosed with myeloma just before New Year and although I wasn't confirmed diagnosis until early January I remember telling my friend I was sure it was cancer on New Year. What a relief- scan was clear ! Thank you so much my lovely moonbeams for your caring messages. Had a bit of a wait but the Onc was really good and explained the mri images- no sign of cancer in spine and only some thickening of uterine wall which is a side effect of tamoxifen. I had got into some dark moments this time as I know you'll understand but I feel brilliant now. Now to start planning Christmas.
