Hi Katherine, Sorry to hear you've been having such a hard time on Tax, have you put dark nail polish on your fingernails? This is apparantly supposed to help as it reduces sunlight getting to them (not that theres much of that at the mo!) No hot Doctor in A & E but theres a lovely registrar who held my hand last time & last night stood at the foot of my trolley & rubbed my feet!!! Have been ribbed by the f/book Jewels for this as most of them hate having feet touched lol! Fiona not liking sound of sicky s/e along with fatigue etc.... This Tax is bloody tough stuff isn't it...hope your energy picks up soon..x Really hate that most of us are suffering atm , for first time on Sun night I did the "I cant do this " speech to OH, he just ignored me tho & know I've not got a chance of avoiding it 😞 Emma wishing you luck at the unit..x Forgotten everything else I was going to say now, hate this site for not being able to scroll back ....still wish you'd all get on the f/book group 😞 Anyway time for another nap, got the bloody 'horse pill' antibiotics again, OH has to break them in half for me lol! Morning ladies, Tax truck has arrived!...aching all over, can cope ok ish with the joint pains but my ears, chest & mouth have been the worst. Feet are sore but nothing like Fiona & Joan, just peeling lots atm. Managed to be reasonably sociable yesterday with the SIL's & even managed a cheeky glass of prosecco yesterday afternoon. Couldnt sleep last night despite being really tired.... Ho hum. Just have to keep reminding ourselves that its not forever!! Hope everyone else fairing ok? Hi Ladies, sore mouth seems more of an issue on Tax for me, taste buds not so bad as when on fec tho, at least can get water down me, tasted like metal on fec! Welcome Murphy, hope you stuck around for the rest of your chemo, its a struggle isn't it, certainly doesnt get any easier. Aww Fiona glad your mum having a nice birthday, shame you live so far apart, you wouldve got told off more if youd have gone up there tho! 🙂 Glad you got some sleep, can be tricky with the bloomin steroids! Done a lot today, shopping, wig buying etc. feet are aching & joints a bit too, just looked at soles of feet & skins peeling off in big chunks!! Slathered loads of cream on & hope for the best!....brain always mushed Fiona, dont know if I can even blame chemo tbh!! Hi Emma, I've just beens lathering on Scholl vit K cracked feet cream so far ( only on day 4 of first Tax) plenty of hand cream too & will see how it goes. Palms of hands a bit red at mo & feet a tad sore, just hope no major flare up like Fiona & Joan had! Glad to hear back from you bar girls....hope the lesser dose for Fiona & Joan does the trick! Fiona 'hunt the vein' not good, been there a few times now & mine are shot to pieces! Hope you get some rest tonight, these steroids ate a b****r arent they?! Pizza sounds like a good sleeping aid Joan, liking the sound of that!.x Jayne sickness sounds bad on Tax for you, I too was told no need for anti-sickness etc with Tax, none so far but just shows we're all different & have different reactions, hope youre a lot better this time round..x Pollyanne? (Hope Ive got that right cant scroll back!) re allergic reaction, I was v worried about this & thought bound to happen to me etc, but was told by my onc that with all counteractive drugs they give you with the infusion its very unusual to get a severe reaction, some people just need the drip slowing down if they get back pain etc when being put in. I had no reaction at all so am sure you'll be fine too. Im still getting the wbc injections same as with fec after each dose too..x Brain bit mushed tonight, hoping that dam trucks not on its way!!...hope to catch up properly tomorrow ladies...Sandra xx ... Fiona Emma & Joan all the best for your bar visits tomorrow. Joan if it makes you feel any better I took my last lot of steroids at 5pm on day before because we were out & about & I managed to sleep reasonably well:-) Fiona glad you've had a nice day out shopping with your daughter, love shopping days , haven't had one for a while as gone up a size & want to lose a bit after chemo(thats the plan anyway!!) Hope the reduced dose does the trick for you & Joan....fingers & toes crossed! Been on a mad cleaning spree today in prep for visitors on Fri, YD visited for couple days also & brought with her some Ibiza lurgy (she's just got back) hoping she hadn't passed it on! Feel like waiting for these Tax s/e's to kick in, prob be weekend. Anyhow so far so good & no nausea & burping like with fec which is nice! Marion enjoy your visitors I'm sure they'll perk you up..x Fiona hope your clinic visit went ok & that you got some answers re reduction suggestion etc..x Jill Chelle & Cheryl sounds like you had a fab meet up....its great to have a really good laugh isn't it, does wonders for you!! Back from first Tax, was worried when first arrived for bloods at hosp they couldn't get any blood from me so had to use my 'at risk' arm as a one off! Was panicking that the Tax wouldn't go ahead but new onc nurse that Ive not had before put cannula in inside wrist & worked great! Phew, no reaction either which is what I was worried about!...not feeling bad at all no nausea which is great!....not getting complacent tho as have heard how it takes a few days for the truck to arrive & knock you down!! ...
