Hi All Just me and you Dilys by the look of things! Hope everyone is well - sorry havne't been on the board for a while. Latest check up was good, still have lump in right boob but they still think it's a haemotoma (bruise) so all good. I'm on yearly scans now, yay! Mammo in September but nothing to worry about. It's been busy times, and the odd really hot day is torture for me to be honest, just wears me out. I'm hot at the best of times but that just leaves me soaked in sweat the whole time and is really uncomfortable for me! (sorry, but grim). Other than that all is good with me, been pretty busy with work & socially - hope everyone is well. The 9th for the op Dilys? Hahaha, Karen that's so funny! Minnie, a visiting friend, threw up on the carpet and looked ashamed of herself! Very funny! She is my rescue cat from Battersea. 15 years old and a real cutie. The groom escaped unscathed / still dressed / not tied to a lamp post so all was well for the wedding! Big birthday next week! Who would know, you look great! Hi All How nice to see activity on the site, lovely to have everyone back. Ruby - you probably won't see this but have a lovely holiday and so glad to hear how happy you are. Great that the child is lovely too, that could have been a nightmare so well done! I agree with Karen, it didn't seem right to be here without one of our most treasured members so it's great to see you back Dilys. Minnie is doing really well - will email you a pic. She threw up on the carpet last night but think it's the moulting/hairball thing. She looked ashamed of herself poor little thing but I was positively lovely to her naturally! George sounds adorable. Have a glass of wine or two while you can before hospital again. Hope they managed to switch your operation. I had a first at the weekend, was in Bristol for my friends stag night, yes stag night! First one of those I've ever been on! Then a lovely wedding on Sunday, it was such a fab weekend and I also managed to fit in seeing a couple of friends & me Mum so it was busy but great. Hi All Thanks so much for your informative and sensible responses, you are all such stars! I was given a printout but to be honest did not really look as I had made the decision to have the treatment I had and like most of you it seems, I'm sceptical of stats. I will pass all your info and opinions on to my friend as there is a lot of sense in there. I hope all of you still in chemo are OK - Beardie good luck with the rest of your chemo etc. Sounds like we had very similar treatment and I'm 4 years in October since finishing chemo, 3 in January since rads and 18 months left on Tamoxifen. Hi Jane & CCL Thanks so much, I'm finding the prognosis confusing. I was just told I'd have the belt & braces treatment with no options! Stage II with no lymph node spread. So to you both does it sound like they are giving her a 93% chance of no local return (of the tumours removed) and at least 10 year survival rate do you think? CCL - were you given a further % survival rate because you had rads & tamoxifen? Hope life is feeling more normal for you, 8 months is not long so hang in there! Hope the rads didn't wipe you out too much and the tamoxifen isn't treating you tooooo badly! Cecelia. x ... View more
