Hi all, I have recently posted regarding periods returning but only had one reply (thank you). I have just returned from seeing my GP as periods have not returned after finishing Zoladex 6 months ago. I am now to hve a blood test to see if I am showing any signs of hormones returning. I am still getting hot flushes (although know where near as bad) and she has suggested I may now be post menapause. I am 34 was diagnosed at 28 and am absolutely gutted that I may not be able to have a child with my husband. Periods continued all through chemo, rads and even Tamoxifen. It was only Zoladex that 2 years ago stopped them. Please shed some light on this for me. Have any of you been in the same situation, when did your periods return etc. Thanks in advance, Mandy ... Hi Ladies, not really sure where to post this so thought may be here. I had BC nearly 5 years ago age 28. Grade 3, no lymph nodes, ER+. On Monday I am having a brain/skull CT scan and am absolutely petrified. I have been getting this odd pain in my head now for some weeks. Its always on one side and feels not like a head ache but more like i've banged my head on something, an uncomfortable soreness. After getting not very far at the docs I made an appointment with my breast surgeons team and now have a scan booked. The doc wasn't overly worried and I think is being cautious but I am convinced something is going on. I get the results next Monday 3rd Oct. Waiting for the results has to be one of the hardest parts of this rubbish disease. I am 9 months away from finishing Tamoxifen and Zoladex and was planning on getting pregnant next xmas. Hey all, I recently posted re Brain Mets but after a reply suggesting bone mets in skull instead of brain mets I thought I would start this post. I was dx 4 years ago, 28 years old, no lymph involvement, grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma. Had 6 FEC, rads and now on Tamoxifen and Zoladex. Over the past 2 weeks I have developed a pain in my head. Not like a head ache (although I do get them as well from being on Zoladex) but more like a very uncomfortable soreness in one particular place. Its feels like its burning and sometime tingles. Its mostly in one area and pain killers do nothing. It gets worse though out the day and come bed time is too sore to lay on that side of my head. Even washing my hair is uncomfortable. Hi ladies, I haven't been on here for a while as all has been good but am starting to panic a bit and know you'll help me out. I was dx nearly 5 years ago aged 28, Grade 3, no lymph nodes involved, Chemo, rads, Tamoxifen and now Zoladex as Tamoxifen wasn't working. Anyway... Since starting Zoladex 6 months ago I have been getting migraines.(never suffered with head aches before). For the last week or so I have been getting a pain to the side of my hair crown, its not a headache more like an uncomfortable soreness as if I have banged my head. Very often it tingles too and is very sore when I apply pressure to that area. I am taking 2 ibruprofen and 2 paracetamol every 6 hours as told to do so by my doc (over the phone, haven't actually seen her yet) but the pain is constantly there. It is there when I wake up and there when I go to bed and very often by time I go to bed I have a massive headache and feel very unwell. The other night it was even sore just to lay on that side of my head. Obviously I am now thinking I have a brain tumour and am beginning to panic. What are the symptoms of spread to the brain ???? Hi Ladies. I started Zoladex 3 months ago. I was 3 years post dx and all was fine. Was getting over the whole cancer thing and everything was looking up then onc said as I was still having periods Tamoxifen wasn't working properly and that I needed Zoladex. Zoladex has been horrible, head aches, joint ache, hair thinning, hot flushes and now seem to be at the bottom of a huge hormonal pit that I can't climb out of. Having been getting so down lately and feel horrible, I'm 32. How do you cope ??? Do I stop having the Zoladex injections ??? Do I see doc ??? WHAT DO I DO ??? Hey all, I've not been on here for a while as everything was going good nearly 4 years past diagnosis. I'm 32 and was dx when I was 28. Had chemo, radiotherapy and was then put on Tamoxifen. Onc now decides 4 years on and I need Zoladex to shut my hormones down as Tamoifen is not doing its job properly. I am on my second monthly injection of Zoladex and am not coping with the side effects. I am gettng terrible migranes(never suffered before), fingers, feet and back are stiff and sore, sore and itchy down below and now my hair has started to fall out. Also getting about 30 hot flushes a day that make me feel like like a zombie. I can't think straight, can't remember things and generally feel rubbish. HAS ANYONE LOST HAIR WHILST ON ZOLADEX ? EVERYTIME I WASH MY HAIR MY HANDS AND THE BATH ARE COVERED IN IT. WILL I LOSE ALL OF IT OR WILL IT JUST THIN ? WILL SIDE EFFECTS BECOME ANY EASIER ? SHOULD I GIVE UP ON ZOLADEX ? Hey all, haven't been on here for a while as 4 years down the line ~I thought i was finally putting CA behind me. Anyway... after being on Tamoxifen for 3 years and still having regular periods onc has decided its not working properly and to now also give me Zoladex. I had the first one last Thursday and was wondering how long it take before you start getting side effects. The last couple of days I have been getting extremely down, snapping at my hubby and daughter and have been getting very hot and sweaty at times. I don't know what to do, i'm being so nasty to everyone close to me but just can't help it. Surely it can't be Zoladex already ? Does anyone have any tips on how to get through this. Hi All, I was dx with grade 3 ductal carcinoma in January 07 at the ripe old age of 28. I had NO lymph nodes infected, had a lumpectomy, rads and am now on Tamoxifen. I am a tad worried as over the last 4 - 6 weeks I have had quite a bad sore spot at the base of my spine. I have had a bone scan on this part of my spine as to which hot spots showed up so I had another scan but no cancer was found. The onc basically said I had a slight curve in my spine and as i was quite slim that part didn't have much protection from every day wear and tear. The pain I have now is almost constant and I have started taking pain killers when its really bad. It really hurts when I stand up from sitting in cars at tables etc and it takes me a while to get going not forgetting I look like a duck when I try and walk ( after sitting ). Is it possible to get bone mets even if your lymph nodes were clear ? The thing is I don't know what to do. I am trying so hard to move on and to not think every ache and pain is cancer but am struggling to decide if its me being paronoid of if I should see a doc. Hey all, I was dx 2.5 years ago with grade 3 ductal carcinoma, chemo, rads, Tamoxifen etc aged 28. I have just discovered a small baked bean sized lump in my groin. The whole of my groin area feels quite noduly but this particual one is way more prominent. A few weeks back I made an appointment to see Breast Surgeon as I thought I felt something in me breast. Hey all and BIG HUGS to each and every one of you ♥ I haven't been on here for a while as I have been trying to move on 2 years after dx. I was dx with bc jan 07, grade 3 , no lymph node involvement, 6 x FEC 16 x rads now on Tamoxifen. Aged 28 when dx. Massive family history but no faulty genes ( apparently ? ) All has been well apart from a few precautionary ultra sounds / scans of various body parts over the last couple of years that have all come back clear. On my bc side ( I had lumpectomy and one lymph node taken ) I have recently had quite a lot of pain in one area near my lymph node scar. The pain seems to have gone but quite away above where the pain was and nearer to my collar bone something is not quite feeling right. Theres an area that I can only describe as feeling a bit like mush. There are lots of tiny fleshy nodules and a long kind of stringy bit. The stringy bit I'm pretty sure is not a vein and leads to no where. Whats worrying me is that on my original dx i'm sure I recall there being stringy like bits coming from the tumour. I have felt all around but can not find a positive lump. I'm trying so hard to move on and not to keep running to the doctors with every ache and pain so was really seeking some advice from you guys, Much appreciate it, Mandy xxx ... View more
