i have not posted for a few years. I finished chemo nearly 6 yyears ago, herceptin five years ago and tamoxifen at Christmas. My bones are now as sore as ever, I had tests done last year for arthritis etc but all was clear. my doctor suggested swimming and load bearing excercise. trouble is i work in a physically demanding job, lifting, on my feet and a 2 hour commute some times, i am just plain knackered. when will it all end or should i expect to feel like this for ever ... I have had thrush alot and the doc has given me a couple of treatments for it but it always comes back. It went for a wee while after I had a period(and they do not come very often) They took a swap as well but it was negative so now Im back to square one. Hi, I have also been having this problem. I have been on Tamoxifen for 15 months now after a year of arimidex. My hair some times comes out in clumps though it comes back it is thinner than when it first came back after chemo. I think it is just one of those things. I told the nurse when I had my check up but she didnt think anything of it. I have always had fine hair but did enjoy having thicker hair for a little while before the tamoxifen. Hello A I have just seen this post so sorry its been a wait for you to get a reply. I had a haemotoma in my leg (I know its not the same) This was while I was approaching my 3rd Tax, anyway there was alot of infection, it was about the size of a tennis ball and I could barely walk. Basically if this had been the only thing to deal with I think they would have cut in but that would have put me on crutches on the top of everything else. In the end they put a needle in and removed some gunk and then put me on intensive antibiotics. Hi Sunflower8 Sorry to hear you are still having trouble, Im sure the team at St Johns are telling ttruth it should get better. I actually went to my local nurse in Edinburgh and she was actually better despite not being a plastics specialist. Are you still going to St Johns, which nurse are you seeing, there was one there who was very nice and good but I didnt feel she used the best dressings (neither did one of her colleagues. Are you back to work? Im back humpfing pots and pans about, but not the sacks of onions, they have been very good at work, also Im a supervisor so can delegte stuff out. Take care Louise ... Yes this all sounds very familiar. I was taken into hospital via the ARU after just before my 3rd Tax, temp 39.6, neutropena, haemotoma etcWas in for 3 weeks on fluids, iv antibiotics etc, they also had to darin some yuk from my leg. Was let out after lots of begging with my onc on 16 tabs a day. But that was the only blip in all my treatment apaert from usual side effects. I also had to have injections to boost blood cells. I had a tram flap at St Johns on the 18 Sept by CR. He went through all the pros and cons of each type of operation, but the final desicion is yours. There is no need to rush into this. You onnly had your mx in April. I waited 21/2 ears which was fine for me.You may want to let your body heal first. Do research on each type of op, this site has a match up service which is very good . Also ask your bc nurse they shopuld tell you some of the pros and cons but tbh only you can decide, The tram flap is a fairly horrendous experience for the first few days, the op its self is 9 hours and basically you feel as if you have been hit by a bus for the first few days but after that its all up hill. The other types of recon are a little easier to recover from. He is an excellent surgeon and the whole theatre team were fab. Louise is coming CR my surgeon is oh so pleased with his handywork. Went to speak to work today, they will break me in gently, the Xmas menu is starting aaaargh! JUst back from seeing CR, everything fine hes pleased with his handywork and is happy for me to return to work but says p/t might be an idea to begin with. Lesely good luck on the 30th. Take all the help you can, there are breast care nurses there as well as the ward staff, they may have lexperience of breast surgery but the senior nurses are both very good.
