Hiya I had a delayed diep surgery on the 9th Dec and am not hurting too much but feel like by stomach is huge and very tight, because of that and they way I have to sleep with pillows under my legs I find that I get a lot of lower back ache. I have just come out of hospital for this operation. Im so glad i went through with it since is such a scary option. I just thought I would let you know that the pain is no where near as bad as I expected, in fact I have no pain at all in the breast area. Hi Girls Thanks for the replies (and sorry for taking so long!) I have seen the nurse who told me I would see a surgeon within two weeks. That was over 10 weeks ago now! so Im not holding my breath. Hi Sheila It sounds like your having a right time of things. Even worse when you cant plan anything nice because of appointments and treatments. Look after yourself though, it wont do you any good in the long run if you don't eat. How many sessions of the new chemo are you having? I didnt know Dr Y was still working, last time i was in it was Dr Dunn and her team I saw. Hi Girls I just thought I would let you know that I went in to see Sharon, shes doing really well, was happy and not in too much pain. she hopes to be out on Monday or Tuesday. Hi Girls Thanks for all the well wishes. I went back to work about 5/6 weeks after finishing rads and started 1 day a week for the first week, 2 days a week for the second week and then did about a month of 3 days and a month of 4 days. Im back up to the 5 days and im doing 10 till 4. I fel as though Im coping well, I do get tired every so often, but overall, im doing good. I still ahve to wait for a reconstruction, so I will be back in hospital at some point, but I dont know when!! I hope everyone is keeping well and that the treatment isnt too bad. Hi All, I havent been on in ages, I'm back at work and have been a bridesmaid at a wedding etc so it has been a very busy time for me. Lynda, Im tripple negative too, if there is one concelation, you know the cancer is not encorraged by the hormones we have. It does mean there is one less treatment they can give us, but apparently tripple nagative cancers respond really well to chemo so there is a bright side. Hope you feel better about it all soon. I still havent heared from Glasgow Royal about geting a recon, my surgeon Mr Musa said I needed to lose 2 stone in weight before I would be considered. but he would refer me anyway. So I dont know if he has, or if there is such a big waiting list that I will have to wait ages to hear. Had the DLA Dr here yesterday. He said that he doesnt make the desissions. but he can almost guarantee I wount get it as they look at it for people who cant go to the loo by them selfs and cant heat a tin of soup. Oh well, guess Id better get those hours at work up a bit to pay of the debt accumulated while I was being treated, great eh! Im doing the race for life too, so far I have raised £847, I really wanted to make it to the £1000 mark, but I think im pushing my luck now hehe. Oh well. I cant beleive they want us there at 8.30am, thats bothering me more than the walk is lol. Hi All Just to let you know.... I phoned the royal to see how Sharon is doing... The nurse said she was back from the operation and was doing well. Second day of work done, all going well. I have an appointment with the surgeon this week so I will be asking to go on the waiting list for a recon. Apart from that, its all quiet here. Hope everyone is well Angela ... View more

Hi Girls Well first day back at work done! It wast too bad, I worked from 10 till 4, Im pretty tired, but cant sleep as I didnt finish what I was working on and keep going over solutions in my head. Tried to dial into work to put one of the solutions into place just now (12.30) but cant access my PC for some reason..... and of course with something like this I need to try it to see if its going to work ok. I know it doesnt seem like it, but it will. Hope you feel better over the weekend and manage to do something nice. I went into work and have been told to wait another couple of weeks before I go back. I will be starting back one day a week first week then 2 the following etc, plus I have to go in for 10 and leave at 4 so I miss the rush hour trafic. I have to say they are being more accomodating than I expected, but its good. I have also just to go home if I feel one of the days is too much for me. Hi Anne Im was also with Musa and yosef. Mr musa is really nice and he cares. Mr Musa does not do the recon as he is not a plastic surgeon. for that you would be refered to Glasgow Royal. If you have an imediate recon, Mr Musa will travel to the royal to do his stuff then the plastic surgeon takes over to finish the job. I had the mastectomy without recon as I was told I would have to wait up to 8 weeks for Glasgow Royal and as far as I was concerned I just wanted the cancer out of me, but I didnt have chemo first so it may be a different story for you. Dont worry too much about the operation.. it will be over with before you know it and you will be back on your feet in no time. I am going on the waiting list soon for my recon. Hope this helps...
