Hi thank you so much for your reply . I am now 3 weeks post op and whilst in hospital I did really well showering myself and blow drying my hair even day 2 !!! Things havent gone great since having drains removed and returning home i have developed a large seroma around my groin area the area that the Lymph nodes were taken from it has meant I had to return to hospial 3 times to have over 2 liters of fluid drained and as The hospital is well over an hour away its not been ideal . I did try to go to our local a and e but they wouldn't touch me as the procedure I had done they were unfamiliar with . I do think the seroma has hindered my recovery as when I have it drained I feel almost normal again until it has re filled on the last visit they injected steroids in as this is meant to prevent the build up so fingers crossed . My op was  9th November and I find it hard to believe December is upon us and do feel Christmas is going to pass me by but onwards and up wards and Im sure I will make up for it next year.   Regarding lymph node transfer I do think i may have been a bit naive due to the new fresh skin fat ect which has made my new breast it feels instantly less tight as my trunk was also effected by my lymphadma and it gave me lots of pain my arm looks fab even though I was told it would swell due to theatre but it has not. How ever my leg on the side lymph nodes were removed has become swollen I have aired my fears and concerns but have been told it is early days and that the swelling which i do have on most of my left side is post op and not due to lymph removal. I have been told by all surgeons I have seen since that only a few are removed and the groin leg area have more that enough lymphs to compensate I do hope this is true as to develop lymphadima of the leg would be my worst nightmare but I think the seroma area is worsened due to the lymph clearance so it may be that you have made the right chose i just have everything crossed that it settles down . thanks again for your reply and all the best with your sergery . ... Hi Ladies great to catch up and know that we all know how the other one is feeling it seems are treatments after being so similar are all now so different ...How is that !!!! Im having mld every week by a great lymphadima team in my local town in Dudley one bonus there clinic is right on my door step .Getting loads of bone pain so bc nurse has recommended another bone scan !!!! Had quite a few purks from this including nice free holiday in Minehead with hubby and kids and a free dishwasher lol ..... Hi I to have been put on Mirtazaoine and have also ballooned ...I have nerve damage down the one side caused by the radiotherapy I had , I was told this drug helps as well as making me feel better about ... Weight is really getting me down Lisa ... View more

Hi Ladies just popped on to say hi and Im fixed again !!!! I think thats why I havent been on but It just shows that I also still need this site xxxx Have done race for life and back at work and back to being mom again . just need to lose this weight !!!!! I too looked in the mirror today and saw a frumpy over weight short curly haired old lady ( just turned 40 and 12 months on since dx)And everyone keeps saying how well I look . My main prob is cramps I get terrible cramp not sure if its from injection or tablets . ... View more

Hi Ladies still follow thread but not posted for a while , Great to see we are all getting on with our busy lives , its been just over a year and had first day back at work today ..Yes mines curly too lol !!! HAPPY New Year Ladies hope all is well Looking at going back to work .....Just need to get arm settled on loads of tabs for nerve pain which seem to be working . So heres looking forward to 2010. Had results from bone scan and Im have not got osteoporosis but am on the verg of it so been given some tablets to strengthan the bone !!!!Whats all that about, any one else in the same posiotion. HI Ladies old and new , all zapped and new to being zapped just to let you know had a bike for my 40th and been out on it twice yes and in this weather . And I felt fab cant belive that just a few months ago I didnt have the strength to walk down stairs . Its amazing how our bodies recover ..Shame weight doesnt go back as quick lol... Thanks Ladies feeling better today just put tree up with the little one who is really excited and it just makes me so happy to be here to see it after the year Ive had . We must all feel the same . I think the new year will help us rap up this year a bit and get on with things . Hubby ok bless as you say they dont get half the suport we get ,mine is a man of few words as well unlike me ,so tends to bottle it up a bit . Arm still playing me up will be getting treatment for it as soon as nurses are sure there is no infection not seen surgen again yet but sure if they thought it was bad they would of been in touch ..... Hope veryone is lookinf forward to christmas as much as me !!! Oh and just had dishwasher FREE from a local charity in the area who help people with medical needs ... Cant belive how anyone can be up to working dont think I will be back Jan due to arm looking at being back in Feb now !!!!! Still waiting for treatment on arm due to repeat infection on 3rd lot of antibiotics and take each lot for 2 weeks so not chance of a drink for me lol ...
