Hi If you search for Younger breast cancer network on face book you will find the main public page. Once there send a private message through to the grp giving some brief info about yourself. One of the admins will pick it up and add you to the grp. We add people through the messaging service not the main page. we are not far off 500 hundred members now all around the country, some are pregnant and some have had babies while on chemo, others found out just after they gave birth. Hi li am sure you will gets lots of support on here, but if you are on facebook too there is a younger women's network which is a private place to chat. We have over 330 members now all younger women, many with v young children. Please feel free to message us. I was dx when my children were 2 and 4 and I couldn't bare the idea that I could be the worst thing that had happened to them. They are now 8 next month and 6 in July And so far we are all fine. Hi meemoo and others The younger womens section on the side bar is a really useful starting point to get information and find support if you want it. I was dx at 38 in 2010 with a 2year old and a 4 year old. This site helped me a lot. There are lots of resources out there when you are ready for them, so please dont feel you are alone. debx ... Thank you to those ladies who have continued to contribute to this thread. The objective was to let women who were having herceptin side effects know they were not alone. To reassure them that it was being caused by herceptin, not something worse and to help have some confidence when telling their oncologists that they were having difficulties with it. Especially when oncs seem to dismiss it as not having side effects. It was not meant to scare those having it or waiting to have it. it is not in the same league as chemo, but can still effect peoples lives in a variety of ways. I found it very reassuring to know I was not alone in having palpitations etc. We are all different and some are effected more than others and I hope there are enough posts on here to let people know that it is possible to not experience any problems on herceptin. dx ... Hi Sorry you havent had many responses. Most of the Newcastle/ durham women have now moved to facebook. There are a couple with secondaries but they are from sheffield and north yorkshire, so not very close. Might I suggest you pm some of the secondaries ladies on here and find out about their facebook group. I know there is at leats one and you might be able to link with some locals there. There is a Shine grp in north tyneside if you are a younger women and there is going to be Maggies soon at The Northern Cancer centre. Really hope you find some local support. debx ... View more
