Hi Meri   I have been having terrible stomach problems with Exemestane.  It all started when I was put on a generic brand.The worst for me is Activas,I am a bit better  on Accord. I was fine on the Pfizer which was the original brand but when they changed brand the problems started.Pfizer being expensive.   I didn’t  have nausea but had terrible stomach pains and diahorrea.The diahorrea has finally sorted itself out now but I now cannot eat loads of different veg take anything spicy or Drink fizzy drinks or alcohol or eat a large meal. It’s a pain but I have had to adjust my diet.     i take Mintec before meals and it helps a little. I have asked to be kept on my original brand but 9 times out of 10 I still get the generic.   Maybe ask the chemist if you can change the brand of exemestane and that might help your symptoms a bit.     This is 2 years now. No I don't feel ill all the time. If I eat to many carbs now I am ill and veg  spices foods fizzy drinks alcohol are a no no.  If I eat to big a meal I am sick. Stomach is all bloated.   When I had the Diahorrea I didn't feel ill either  it just hit me. Was terrible couldn't go out without going to loo and if out first thing had to look for was where the nearest toilet was but one morning I got up and it had miraculously stopped and was back to normal pooh wise. I never lost any weight.   I was supossed to get hospital appointment but took so long it had cleared up.  You should ask doctor for something  as it not health especially if you are loosing weight. ... Thanks Blieash I am going to give this a go. My Exemestane brand has been changed and I feel as if I have been hit by a bus.  Had no sleep last night with bone pain.  So off to supermarket to get some.         Saver have the equivelent to Claritin at 79 p for a pack of 14.  Got to pack to try. Oh I had diahorrea with Exemestane. Lasted a year then suddenly stopped.  I still have stomach problems with it and can't eat lot of thing as very bad with wind lol.  Feels like I have ibs all the time.   ... View more

I've been on Exemestane for 2 years now. My problem was stomach issues with it. The runs to put it loosely but got medication from doc to sort it out. Still can't eat certain foods and drink alcohol or fizzy drinks as get terrible wind but apart from that been ok. Do get aches and pains as I has oestepina in my spine and neck but just grin and bear.  I have been walking every day and your body will tell you if your doing to much.  Certainly not the aches and pains I had on Arimidex.I could hardly walk some days when I was on them.   Emma to say people come on with negative stories is not always because they  like to moan .Some people do not get on with the medication they have been prescribed. It can be trial and error. Fine for me but bad for someone else.  My neighbour was on three lots meds before finding the right one for her. Which is Exemestane. Everyone gets different reactions to meds. What's fine fore some are a nightmare for others. ... View more

Hi im taking Exemestane. My side effects include hot flushes and brain fog. The worst one is digestive problems which causes me to have really bad gas and  diahorrea. This has gradually got worse over the past few weeks since my brand was changed. I have spoken to my chemist and he will try to make sure I get my usual brand. Hi I'm not on TAmoxifen but Exemestane and have the same problem with diahorrea. I've had to change my diet slightly . I Can't  drink alcohol or fizzy drinks eat anything spicy as get terrible wind as well. Onions and tomatoes have now been added to list. Your doctor should be able to give you something for it. Hi Jan    Are you going to the Beatson?  I went for 3 weeks. Your breast cancer care nurse should be able to give you a contact number for transport.  Phone it and speak to them .Once you have all your dates for starting.you Phone them again.and they will arrange everything. Driver comes and picks you up and drops you off.  They might have couple pick ups and you have to wait for everyone to finish before going home.   It's a great service. i had local recurrence last year after 4 years. I was on Arimidex. Had it removed and rads.  But I didn't get radiotherapy after first  mascectomy and they think that why it returned had been a cell left. I had my treatment in Thialand and only had Chemo no rads. ... View more

Bummer getting cellulitis. I had it after my hysterectomy.  The oncologist I had was Thai and she said it was lucky. Aye that be right lol. I have really calmed down now but you can still see the whole area where I had my rads. ... View more

I had my treatment private in Thailand As hubby was working there  at the time and I found that as well. Fantastic nursing aftercare by all but .i couldn't even get a bra lol.
