It is with a very heavy heart that I am informing all the beautiful ladies on this thread that our Flutterby Emmy passed away last year.. she found out that her cancer had come back and I lost a very dear friend far too quickly... 💔 i,m so sorry it's taken so long to inform you all.. I,ve no excuse I just could,not find the right words even now I still don't know what to say 😢 I went to her funeral and met her lovely family, still finding it very hard to accept as we had been speaking..emailing most days since the thread went quiet, hopefully because everyone was finding life much easier? i,ll never forget how much this thread helped and understand things don't last forever, however I would just like to thank you all who became part of the long and often hard road we all travelled together for just being there and sharing that journey. much love to you all and I do hope life is being kind to you all... as always xxxxhugsxxxx 💖 Doz ... Hi Girls nice to here everything went well with your recon honey... Very brave I,m another coward I just could,nt face more surgery and as for hospitals the only time I want to be in one is when I,m working! Ha ha!  My thyroid surgery and how it's left me feeling has put me off permanently!  I,m still bogged down with hot flushes possibly even more than when I was taking Letrozole... I now find out the levothyroxine gives me exactly the same side effects! Aaaaaaaaaargh! Can't win! And insomnia is worse so pretty sick of it all! my hours are still normal at the moment though I,ve noticed on the roster that the odd week I,m getting shorter hours then the following week back to normal.....?? I,m hoping it's just to cover sickness and shortage as I will be pretty naffed off if it continues! oh the joy!!! enjoy your time in Mull I envy you 😊  Love to all and hugs to everyone xxxxxhugxxxxx Flutter gently xx ... Hi Flutterbys i wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful prosperous new year xxxx hoping you are all well... i have my 5 year check up on Monday eeeeeek! Where on earth has the last 5 yrs gone? so many things have happened in those years, I sadly lost my sister in September which has taken my feet out from under me, it was very sudden and totally unexpected 😢 Missing her terribly! my daughter Vikki finally started working again and has climbed the ladder very quickly as a Sui Chef at a local farm shop/restaurant... Very proud of the way she has adapted! I have finally dropped my hours at work to just 2 shifts... Hi Butterfly's I think your right Janice and hopefully it's the same for everyone that things are getting better xxx So good to hear that you,ve been discharged and Phil is well on the mend... Long may it continue 😊 Also sorry to hear about your friend Elsa I,m sure with your support it will make the journey so much easier! This site has been my saviour this past 5 yrs with all the input stories and support bless you all it will be sad to see it retire...... But I think most of us are at our 5 year hurdle and hopefully it will bring the best of news for everyone, I will certainly be posting my results in November xxxx Life has certainly had its ups and downs this yr thankfully not the dreaded cancer related! Still having issues with the thyroid but it takes quite a while to maintain the proper dose so plod on I will, had my app with Endicrinologist on Tuesday and didn't expect the camera down my nose eeeeeeeeeek!!! It turned out to be my surgeon who admitted the results were good as such but in theory it was,not necessary to remove it as the suspicious nodule was nothing 😕 but I guess in hindsight it's better to know that.... Tho it has opened a can of worms for me as the diagnosis of Hashimoto thyroiditis now needs attention and it's very complicated to treat if you want to get to the root cause of it, so basically they just give you thyroxine and your left to deal with fatigue hormonal imbalance brittle nails dry skin dry hair palpitations fibromyalgia symptoms the list goes on.. So until the thyroxine levels are right it's another damn long road! My biggest question which no.one seems to be able to answer is... Letrozole inhibits oestrogen and your thyroid needs that hormone to supply the rest of the body so am I fighting a loosing battle? As yet not one professional has given me an answer? Hey bloody ho! My friend Carol who lost her son in the French Alps air crash is going through a really tough time bless her, she had a memorial service for Paul in May which was beautiful but heartbreaking for everyone, now it transpires they have matched his DNA to remains 😥 so a funeral is required, It's terrible for her what with all the evidence being still going through the courts for manslaughter charges and hearing the last 8 mins before the crash has broken her so a lot of TLC Is In order for her in the future... I can't begin to imagine her pain 😥 This was going to be a quick catch up sorry.... Sister is doing well and Vikki is now job searching with vengeance! And I,m looking forward to retirement still! I,ve set the date for December this year in the hope that life will have taken on a much more peaceful road and Vikki is off my hands 😊 Much love to you all I will pop on now and then so it's not goodbye just au reviour for now Butterflies! Where do I start..... Morning flutterbies that is such good news Jane I,m so pleased for you xx Easter Sunday an uninsured driver ploughed into my car launching it onto the pavement and driving off, it narrowly missed the front door of the 3rd house along from where it was originally parked, I,ve got his reg and make of car and 4 witnesses, and as yet the Police hav,nt followed it up, so to date I,m £250 out of pocket for excess 😟 plus a couple of long taxi fares to Hospital... Where I got my results I,ve got Hashimoto thyroiditis it's where the immune system attacks the thyroid... What's left of it 😟 they took bloods to see what's going on with adrenal gland calcium level T4 T3 which are part of the thyroid function (I,ve been doing lots of research! ) and that was 11 days ago, having a right pillaver trying to get some answers the results are there but no.one has reported on them so I,m left feeling rubbish 😕 made some marathon phone calls today to try get some answers in the end I asked them to give the results to the Endo Consultant so I can get some answers and treatment! As food can affect this and I need to know what I,m dealing with to be able to sort that out! So I,m still off work ironically because the NHS my employer has,nt got their act together! Hey bloody ho! My poor friend Carol is living a nightmare with all the revelations from the plane crash and is finding no peace at all 😥 she,s been told there will be no burial so the poor girl is getting no closure it's absolutely heartbreaking, today she has flown to Cologne for a memorial service and it will be the first time she has stepped out in public, can't begin to Imagine her pain! Still recovering and think I,m getting quite under active symptoms from my thyroid op 😔 feeling pretty rubbish but only a week to go for my follow up!! Fingers crossed I can sort my poor old body out? Sorry not posted for a while there,s been a very tragic loss for my friend Carol from Mallorca, Her son Paul was on the flight that crashed into the French Alps, absolutely heartbroken and it has broken her, he was her life and a very lovely lad who was witty full of life and very special, this has been the worst tragedy with terrible terrible implications 💔 Sorry to dampen my post with such awful news but hav,nt had the heart to write much lately... I give up with dieting I,m all over the place at the moment my appetite is fluctuating as is my weight 😃 think I,m going to wait to see if I need meds for thyroid then take it from there? Had a lovely Mother's Day Vikki spoilt me rotten and took me and my sister for a meal 😊 (I ended up paying I can't see her spend so much while she still is,nt working ) but even so the thought was lovely! Daniel is somewhere in the Irish Sea up a wind turbine so he,s taking me out tomorrow night when he gets back 😃😃 Weather has picked up again and I spent yesterday pottering and getting all my pots cleaned and fresh compost in ready for the big plant up 😃 Still struggling with energy levels and headaches... So hopefully come April when I get my check and diagnosis that will get sorted? Getting really bad night sweats at the moment again this blessed thyroid problem and of course good old Letrozole give the same side effects so getting double the blinking dose! I,m definately with you all on that one! It's very sunny here but bitterly cold! Fluffy PJ,s on.... Until I get a hot flush then the top comes off so I have to remember to put a little vest top on too....! 😀 I went to Dr,s yesterday to get results of gall bladder scan and I do have very tiny stones, not big enough to cause problems so trying Gold Coin Grass tincture (Chinese) he told me he shouldn't be suggesting homeopathic remedys but his mum tried it and it breaks stones down to grains...... Worth a try ☺️ Plus it is mixed with 100% alcohol ha ha! He also suggested rubbing sudocrem into my scar to calm it down and the result is amazing after just 2 application! The redness has gone dramatically just need swelling to go now I,ve got 2 double chins eeeek! He is going to wait to see if Consultant orders bloods to check my levels and will do it for me if he does,nt, feel a bit better now he confirmed most of what I,m feeling is fluctuating levels and will take time to hopefully settle? If not its thyroxin tablets... Fingers crossed! Had intended replying sooner but fell asleep...... Which is my norm at the moment think it's lack of thyroid? Frankie your certainly not old... I was 60 when I was diagnosed, very similar to Janice in the fact it was same yr same month same diagnosis, R/T followed by Letrozole! No chemo thank goodness, that was enough for me! Facing a possible Cancer diagnosis at the moment after having my thyroid gland removed 10 days ago so pretty fed up with it all and now at 65 I just want to get on with my life and be an idiot again 😃 normally pretty bubbly but all this rubbish sent to try us does knock us back does,nt it! I hope all goes well at your Oncology meeting, thankfully treatment is improving all the time so I will keep everything crossed for you and like Janice wish you well and if you want to let off a bit of excess steam, this is the place to do it xxxxhugxxx ... Fluffs 😊 your day sounds like a typical day us Butterflies often encounter at some point or other.. Meltdown has been a regular occurrence for many of us.. Including myself on many occasions and like you mostly over something very trivial!! It's our hormones sweetie or in my case since Breast cancer! Lack of them! I can laugh at myself afterwards but it takes a while 😃 Sorry to hear you,ve had a rough time too, with your husband, it does,nt help when your trying your damnedest to get some peace of mind when your worrying about your loved ones, again some of us have been there too, so I can empathise with you!
