hi head in the sand, i have just read you post and i am in the same sort of situation i have been on and off herceptin since 2010 dec because its affects my heart, i have had lung mets since 2012 and i got them when i was having a break from the herceptin, plus i have skin mets on chest and one in lymph node so the herceptin have work when i am on it on and off because far its not in any of my other organs so far. but now i will be seeing my onc on wed to dicuss clinical trials and eribulin is one of them if it is funded for me, i am interested in the clincal trials that you have been told about in swansea has i have had about 6 different chemos so far and i am srongley her2 positive my treatment is also in the valindre my onc is rosie stevens. i would nice to hear from you and let me know what your treatment plan is. lorraine xx ... hi furryboots, i joined the forum 2010 would like to say i know how you feel love my last chemo vinorilbine was stopped two weeks ago because it wasnt doing a good job so i was ask to do a trial but if i did i would not of been able to go on holiday on the 15th june so my study nurse said i could not do the the trial for now and start another chemo which hopefully this week, so that i can go on holiday very nervous about it all but these drug trials do take a while to start with the pre screening and everything but i would not worry to much hope this helps i am sure they know what they are doing. take care ... signed and shared on facebook i have been reading about this for a while now my daughters friend had it done she had secondary cervical cancer inoperable, she had this done a year ago in london we live in south wales, it was funded by the nhs in the end as she demanded it, she have been cancer free ever since. ... hi andie T, my original dx was 2010 sept, with ibc but was dx with secondary to lung, chestwall, breast skin in 2012 marrch i am on vinorilbine right now just finished my fourth cycle with only slight fatiuge and feeling well plus my recent scan showed stable. hope this helps. ... View more

hi andie t, i was dx with ibc in sept 2010 then dx with secondries in lungs,chestwall,lymph node opposite to breast cancer side plus inthe breast skin this was in 2012 match. since then i was started on taxol for 5 months first scan showed good results, then second scan i had was all clear, then i was switched to capcitabine but had proggression then switched to vinorilbine and currently stable on this no side affects apart from very slight fatigue and feeling well, i am also her2+ so also having herceptin every three weeks. good luck with your treatment and very few side affects for you. xx ... hi am a secondry lady, nodules lung,skin, chestwall and lymph node opposite side where there was no cancer originally, maybe you could ask for weekly does which is what o had the side affects i not so bad infact all i had was slight fatigue and thats all i was on taxol back last year for five months and got a clear scan after, ... hi there, i am not new to this site was dx in sept 2010, with ibc had all the standed treatment but come back in the breast skin, twice, then eventually chest wall and lung nodules, but i just want to say this was in 2012 in jan having treatment feeling well, had one clear scan time treatment i am on now everything stable. i hope this helps you xxx ... hi my name is lollypop, primary breast cancer dx sept 2010 with IBC had fect taxotere mx then recon plus 15 rads, eight months later it come back in the skin on mx side had the silicone removed and skin then come in skin again same place had ct scan found 8 nodules on lungs. then started taxol for 6 months had another scan and that was clear, then started on capecitabine and tykerb for 6 cycles ct scan again showed slight progression so now started on vinorilbine and hopefully herceptin providing my heart has mended. so what i am trying to say apart from all the set backs i fell well and hoping my next scan is clear again, and always staying positive. xx ... hi moser i have been reading the posts on here very encouraging about the herceptin blondie, but with me the herceptin affected my heart on two occasion, so my onc stopped the herceptin and switch to lapatinib(tyverb) i have been on this for 4 months going to hospital for my scan results tomorow, will keep you are updated. hoping this answer your question moser hoping you are keeping well, lollypop59 xx ... Hi ladies joined this site 2011, dx with ibc sept 2010 had fec and taxotere then mx and the 15 rads after x months later had a reccurance in the skin had a op to remove the nodules then three months later had another reccurance in the skin again had ct scan but this time found lung mets so started taxol for six months another ct and it was all clear also was having herceptin nOw currently on capcitabine with tykerb instead of herceptin becoz of heart issuesn but must say taxol does work and have done really well no side affects with the taxol or cApecitabine. have got a scan in feb to see if the cap is working . ...
