Hello girls and ladies :). Had my last rads today and another two injections of Faslodex. Spoke to my onc and he said he changes me onto Denosumab (XGeva) as Zometa wasn't agreeing with me really. Enjoyed brilliant 29C today with ice cream in my hand, it was lovely. Booked a flight for Scotland for Sat and I gather I will be in for a climate shock brrrrr. Love from Tine xxx

Hi Belinda, true, the consent form I signed to have rads did say sickness and diarrhoea, although the word sickness, the doc put brackets round as he thought it wasn't 100% relevant. So much going on, not sure what casues what lol. Tine x

Although I don't know Helen as I'm new to this thread it's still good to hear she is been seen to now and hopefully improving. I had my ninth session of rads to spine / pelvis today, another six to go. I suffer from terrible nausea and loss of appetite. Wonder if its from the Faslodex last week or because I have taken four weeks of ibuprofen (with omeprazole though) or is it rads? I'm going to see a couple of doctors this week, maybe they're is something they can give me.

Faraway ... I'm in a similar situation as you, I'm 45 and had BC in Nov 2011 and was diagnosed with bone mets five weeks ago. I'm also on Faslodex now (was on Tamoxifen, but they took my ovaries out last year) and so I was on Letrozole. It's not that you can't try aromatase inhibitors if Faslodex shouldn't work, it' just that they might also not be effective. But like with everything else in cancer treatment, it is a matter of trial . I suffer from terrible sickness after the Faslodex, will have to ask for something against it next time. Hi Nicki Thanks for your quick reply. My onc mentioned another Biphos. drug but can't remember its name, he also mentioned it had less SE's but its not as strong? He said if Zometa causes kidney problems he would switch to this other Biphosph. Sorry don't remember you, but I agree the old forum style was way better. My nick name in task life is Tine, that's much better than the chilly 3n3 lol. I'm actually feeling very well, have some pain in my lower back but only take 2x 400 mg Ibuprofen a day, doesn't take pain away completely but its ok. Never have pissin when testing only when moving in a certain way. Tine xx

Hello all I was diagnosed with secondaries (so far thankfully only in the bones, albeit wide spread) four weeks ago. I had my primary in Nov 2011. I'm HER2 pos and ER pos and started on Herceptin and Faslodex and receiving 15 rads to my lumbar region just now. Start on Biphosphonates in two days time as I needed to have root treatment to one of my front teeth first. I'm 45 and was on Tamoxifen after initial chemo, mx, rads and Herceptin but after they took my ovaries and womb out last summer they started me on Letrozole and six months later I was dx with the bone mets. I used to be on the forum when going through treatment three years ago, now I'm back. Looking forward to get to know you all 😊

Hi all worried IBC ladies Just a very quick look in to say I had IBC diagnosed three years ago last month and after all the usual treatment (3 FEC 3 Docetaxel,MX, Herceptin, rads, Tamoxifen now Letrozole since July this year as got my ovaries out) I'm feeling well and life is back to (semi) normal, well as normal as possible after having had stage 3 cancer. I'm on Tamoxifen since good two years, but because I get my ovaries out they will stop the Tam and put me for three years on Letrozole. Is there only a chance of having hormone treatment for 10 years when on Tam or is it with other meds the same? Thanks 3N3

When I went through chemo more than two years ago, my two Springer Spaniels were great company and they made sure that I took them out to take for a walk. Admittely the walks got more flat and slower as chemo went on, but they helped me so much. 3N3

I have to agree, posts just seem to get lost. When I post something I always kind of know I don't get an answer anyway, which is very disappointing. I so miss the old forum's page, where every post, no matter what appeared, a good mix, but this gave a post the biggest chance to be seen by everyone, relevant or not, and so someone got automatically more answers. There seemed to be more of a community then. Sad, but nothing we can do about it. 3N3

I'm also going to have my ovaries out and a hysterectomy probably at the end of next month by keyhole surgery. I don't know if I'm a gene carrier, but the Tamoxifen caused cysts in uterus and left ovary, so they want to take it all out. I'm pleased to read that some women further down said, the menopausal symptoms weren't too bad ... here is hoping! 3N3 xx

I wonder if there is anybody else with the same issue. I've been on Tamoxifen for two years exactly and do actually very well on it, except that I had a very very painful period in March (the second bleed post chemo since taking Tam), so the Gynie had a look and my lining of the womb is so badly affected by the Tam, that they recommend a hysterectomy and since I have a 7 cm cyst on my left ovary they want to take them out too. The doctor at the breast clinic said they change me afterwards to Letrozole for another three years. 3N3 xx

Sorry to read about your worries. Well in theory yes it could be bone mets so soon after chemo, but it's very unlikely. Good you had a bone scan today, if there is anything it will show up. I know it's horrible and this fear of mets is something we somehow have to learn to live with. I'm 2.5 years since DX and have some "funny" pain in my left hip / thigh I'm going to see my consultant about next week. Other ladies years down the line say it gets easier with time, and one lady 14 years after DX said to me "you kind of forget", still waiting for this to happen. It's all perfectly normal, to feel every twinge and ache, we are now very sensitive to these things. Hope all is well xxx
