Thanks for this.  Sorry I had meant to reply at the time but forgot!  The information was very much appreciated.   I have now had my nipple reconstruction.  Done last Monday, so far it looks like the graft has taken.  I will get a good look next week when the dressing comes off.  I am really surprised at how little pain there is on the good donor nipple.  The dressing is off on that one and nobody would know, in fact as my nipple was so large before I prefer it!   I am looking forward to seeing the end result.   Jonamo x ... Hi, Did you end up having this done?  Please could you share your experience if you have?  I have had my LD Flap recon in March 2015 and just had my good side augmented to match 2 weeks ago.  Existing nipple is a little sensitive at the mo, but hopefully that will go down.  Having seen my surgeon yesterday, he has suggested that my existing nipple would be a great donor for the nipple reconstruction...it seems huge at the moment!   I would really appreciate it if you could share your experience...assuming you have had the recon done by now.  Many thanks   ... Bellablue,I was given Emend for my second chemo...it definitely stopped the sickness,but I was completely wiped out by the second dose of FEC. Felt rough for at least 8 days. Hi everyone, day 8 post FEC, last couple of days have felt a bit better but last night didn't get a great nights sleep and felt nauseous, went back to bed for a couple of hours and feel a lot better. Have a horrible taste in my mouth which I can't seem to shift, going to take my 2 boys to the cinema this afternoon to see Walking with Dinosaurs...they have been so good this last week they deserve a treat! I am now day 5 post FECT #2, this time around has really knocked me hard. No sickness due to Emend but have still felt really icky and lethargic. Only had CT and bone scan because I had 5 lymph nodes with cancer, my hospital scans if more than 3 lymph nodes are involved. If 3 or less, it is unlikely that the cancer has spread further. If you have more than 3 they can't stage you until they know for sure if it has spread further or not. Xx ... View more

Hi again, I can't help you with the cold cap and hair loss as I chose not to do it. My husband shaved my hair off yesterday as the falling hair was annoying! I did shed a tear beforehand but feel surprisingly ok about it. I think a couple of the ladies on the December Angels 2013 thread I mentioned are using the cold cap. You can try to look up the monthly threads like October or November Newbies, they are slightly further along than us and may have experienced the initial hairloss after cold capping, so you might get some hints from them. Decided that today was the day to shave most my hair off...fed up of finding hairs everywhere, so my husband got the clippers out. Hi Vickie, I am also on FEC-T and had my first on 4th December and having second on 27th, so looks like we will be on the same days. Was very sick first few days, but the oncologist has prescribed Emend for next lot, which should help. Feeling very tired in afternoon and my hair is also falling out, but otherwise have been coping well. You might want to join the December Angels 2013 thread, we have all started in December and will be going through our treatment together and share our stories. It helps to know you are not alone. There is also a December Angels facebook page, which is a bit more personal, so if you are interested then private message SJB and she can invite you on as it is a private group. Hi Wyn, welcome. You and I are on exactly the same days, had 1st on the 4th and having second next Friday 27th. Also on FEC-T. My hair is coming out too, but had it cut short a few weeks ago, which means at the mo it's not so noticeable, but think I will shave it in next couple of days. Hi, sorry you've been feeling rotten, you should start to feel a bit better from now...I started to gradually feel better from about day 5, I am now on day 16 and feel fine other than the tiredness is increasing. I agree with Joanne that the sickness should not be as bad on your second cycle, providing you speak to your oncologist before your second cycle. I am seeing mine tomorrow so that she can review my symptoms from the first and she should hopefully adjust the sickness meds as necessary.
