Morning Ladies, Sorry not posted for a while, started to write a couple of times and then sounded so miserable so I scrapped it! Most of you have had enough on your plates lately without hearing me moan. Just been having the usual worries of if its going to come back and thinking what would be normal aches and pains are something more sinister. Keeping busy at work and of course something to look forward to like hols helps. Anybody any suggestions re hair colourant? Mine has come back a very boring salt and pepper grey, don't mind grey and had a lovely steeley grey colour in mind.  My hairdresser is only willing to put a toner on at the moment as she thinks it will break off if anything stronger is put on? Its not growing too quick either which doesn't help. Sal, I have been using the Kinesio tape on my boob for a while and I definitely think it works. I hate my sleeve as I think its the most unsexiest thing ever and cannot see me wearing it this summer, that sounds awfully vain but I think you ladies will understand how it's just another reminder etc? Hello everyone just wanted to wish you all the best for 2015. For the last couple of weeks I have been busy looking after visitors and not even seen the final of Strictly yet! For my NY resolution it should definitely be to do more of what I want to do and not worry about everyone else!  Having said that we managed to have a ride up to the Lakes yesterday and had a nice walk around Rydal. Never been that keen on New Year but going out with a couple of friends tonight, don't know about you ladies but looking forward to 2015 with some apprehension but then I put my positive cap on and think about where we all were 12 months ago. Hi Sam,   I'm ok, thanks for asking. Had a bit of a wobble a few weeks ago, been having headaches which is not like me so had an mri scan but problems not cancer related which was a huge relief as you can imagine. Went to the Manchester Christmas Markets on Friday which was great, I know you are a fan! I'm afraid I am the naughty girl in the pack and opened my pressie, thank you once again Sal, you are so thoughtful. Hi Emma, I had my first zometa injection a couple of months ago and for the same reasons as you.  Felt tired, couldnt sleep the first night , bone ache but after a few days all was ok.  Hope that helps.  Jen ... View more

Hi Ladies,   I'm sure my hair has stopped growing altogether, so its very short but curly. I always wanted curly hair but now not so sure, they say be careful what you wish for ! I like the Aussie Miracle range, the leave in conditioner is quite good.   Would love to meet up with you all, I'm in Lancashire but willing to travel where ever is best for most. Been thinking what we could do so that we can have a nice chat/lunch etc without being rushed. Other groups on this site have met up at a spa for a day or even over night, any suggestions anybody?   Good Luck to those who have their 1st annual mammogram after diagnosis this month. Hello all you lovely ladies, Sorry I have'nt had much input to the thread but you are all so articulate and said pretty much what I have been feeling and going through. Thank you Sal for all your encouragement particularly in the early days xxx Sam, I dont live that far from you so would be lovely to meet up for a coffee (or green tea ugh! or wine!) Went to the hairdressers yesterday for a very quick trim and a skin test to have a colour in a couple of weeks. First mammogram after dx due mid September been told to take ibruprofen to ease the discomfort but as we all know its the results that bother us most. Hi All,   This week, like a few of you I am having my first Taxotere if bloods etc allow. Done really well on the FEC just had a few sniffles this week so hopefully wont delay things.   I was wondering if anybody has any tips re looking after your nails while on the Taxotere? Saw a lady the other day and she was really suffering with them lifting. Hi All,   I am due to start Taxotere this week after finishing 3 rounds of Fec. Was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to try and minimise nail problems? Saw a lady the other day with issues with her nails, looked really sore and were lifting badly. I have read that dark nail polish stops the light getting to the cuticles but my nurse said that was just to hide the dark lines that appear. Also has anyone tried putting their hands in iced water during treatment, this is suggested in the Taxotere leaflet.   Any suggestions greatly received!   ... View more

Hello Friendly,   Have a look at freespirittravelinsurance.com. Many insurance companies will not insure you whilst you are still having chemotherapy but this one will. I have booked a holiday for June this year but obviously need to have insurance in place in case I need to cancel before that. Many told me to come back once my chemo was finished which is no good.   Hope this helps and you manage to get away to sunny Spain ! ... View more

Hi All, I had my first dose of FEC 3 weeks ago, 2 more Fec and 3 T to follow. Have done amazingly well with little side effect however still having problems with seroma, I had full axilliary nodes removed 6 weeks ago, 4 times drained since and now skin quite red and been put on anti biotics in case there is an infection.  Very frustrating as healed really well after the op and now possibly the next treatment delayed because of this.  Anyone else had similar problem? On another point, most of my hair now fallen out, started on day 13, my OH cut really short what remains but now very very whispy, does everyone shave at this point?
