I had mastectomy and I had 15 treatments and then 5 boosts , they were to the sternum met tho I have had a haircut today !! well bit of a trim really 🙂 R xx

The purple cancer kicking boots did the job well, I had oncology review today the doctor says my bloods are all back to normal pre cancer levels bone met is not showing activity all bone profile levels are much improved . Thank god for denusomab ! He says its working really well for us folk with bone mets carry on and see me in January happy happy happy days !!! Enjoying a bottle of Prosecco and chatting with my fella best I have felt for sometime now 🙂 We Can DO This !! Love to all Rowan44 xxx

I have now finished the active phase of my treatment chemo and radiotherapy all done now , I managed to go to quite a few gigs during my treatment I felt tired sometimes but was still able to enjoy seeing bands and friends I had no ill effects from going and in the main timed them to be on the "good week "

Ah no Sue that is bad news devastating for your poor daughter too but she will get over it with time and who knows she may find someone who is meant for her she might look back and think she dodged a bullet . Upsetting for you all tho !! Hugs xxx

First day went very well thanks , I was greeted and everyone said how pleased they were to have me back , I only had 3 patients booked in lol but that was fine , getting to grips with the computer was the main issue and I have 279 emails to trawl through !! Think most of them can be deleted !! I was exceeding tired when I got home so I had something to eat and drink and then slept most of the afternoon ! Feel better for it but hope I dont do the same every day I think its going to be a slow process of getting back to my full hours at this stage !

Hi all , been away for a few days with my fella but back now , it was his birthday so I was spoiling him . I return to work tomorrow , not sure I am looking forward to it but I think I will have plenty of support going in for 4 hours tomorrow wed and friday wish me luck !!!

Yep I have been taking the 1000mg vit C and zinc supplement as well , trying to eat more healthily as well , the weight has crept on cos I havent been as active , that will change now I am back to work !

I am going back to work on the 4th August , have had 2 weeks off since the rads and its been 8 months since I went off sick in december , I really have no option as I am only getting the £88 per month with no other benefits and my savings are now dwindling . I am doing 3 mornings a week for the first few weeks ( got a week annual leave at the end of the month too ) I said I would drop hours so now I will be doing 3 9am-6pm days and 2 9am -1pm thurs and Fri I might even drop friday altogether when I see what the money is like . I am dreading it but also know I need to get back to working again so its a double edged sword I would love to have more time off but its just not possible

There is a natural hair dye called naturtint stocked on Amazon and good range of colours , yes I have been looking lol mine is coming back now but like you its very grey and fluffy looks like a baby bird 🙂

Thank you Chocolates and Desi I feel a lot better today , its been a lot to take in over the last few months . Yes I will phone my BCN and also I am in for a denusomab injection so will see my lovely ANP who has been great through the chemo Its all an adjustment to a new life I suppose thanks for your reassurance xxxx

Hi all diagnosed with breast cancer in november I had a mastectomy and anc in december was told clear margins and 5 nodes affected out of 15 , ER positive tumour . I was told I would need chemo and then radiotherapy they did a CT scan and bone density scan as "baseline" but when I went to see the oncologist about chemo he was upset to see that the bone density scan had an area of suspicion on the sternum and had to send me for MRI scan . This confirms I have a sternal bone met it hasnt gone anywhere else ... I have completed chemo 3 fec and 3 docetaxol and now am in the final stages of radiotherapy am having 15 to the chest axilla and sternum with 5 "boosts" to the sternum I think . I also have 4 weekly injections of Denusomab and have also started to take Tamoxifen which they say I will be on " for as long as it is effective " 10 years plus was mentioned .. Basically I am at a loss mentally now I just dont know what to expect and what this all means I think they said I will get 3 monthly reviews I am not sure for how long .. The oncologist said he thinks he can hold it for a long time . I dont know if I dare ask what the prognosis is as it makes you focus on negatives and its just a guess Can any of you out there reassure me or give me advice on how to proceed once this main bit of treatment is over ? Hello all , Happy birthday for yesterday Sue sounds like you have had a good time x I am using udderly smooth cream on my chest its been red but th cream is helping my unit just advise aqueous cream and also frowned and told me not to use aloe vera when I said I was using it on the sore area around my neck I had an allergic type rash last week and was worried it was the tamoxifen , stopped it over the weekend and was seen in the oncology clinic , they seemed to think it was more likely to be linked with the amount of local anaesthetic that was used to remove the hickman line .. I have now started taking the tamoxifen again and so far no nasty itchy rash so perhaps they were right . Has anyone heard from Hayley ( lowfatlovatt) ? Last I saw she said she was going into hospital and nothing since I do hope all is well. This weekend I am going to Wolverhampton to see ELO experience with my fella on friday night and then up to Glasgow on Saturday to see Extreme and party with the scottish lot lol yes gadding again ... 🙂 8 more rads to go Keep on keeping on 🙂 love to all Rowan xx

LOL Sue no you are not the only one who remembers the mustard cress , I used to plant it in a boiled egg shell I think finally had my first radiotherapy today I was really anxious I suppose it was worry that the same thing would happen as last time but I was positioned and zapped really quickly

Kess I had MX and ANC in December , the tumour was large and deep so lumpectomy wasnt an option for me , my partner fully supported that I opted to wait on the immediate reconstruction , I think it was the right choice for me as they said that although they would do it it may mean further surgery after radiotherapy as that was likely to damage the reconstruction . I am gettting used to it now , the prosthesis is a good match to my other side and I got some pretty bras off the internet that have pockets . It is all temporary and with time we will be back to normal Rowan xx

Well I had the review and they are out of ponies and skirts ... I have had urgent referal for my line to be removed ( I cried and said it was distressing me now .. it is ) so am waiting on the phone call for that , they didnt know that the radiotherapy has been delayed and couldnt shed any light upon when I will start but I have checking booked for 17th of June .. watch this space As regards me giving my own denusomab every 4 weeks they havent been able to talk to the senior pharmacist who is on leave or my consultant for him to ok it so I am still chipping away at that one I said I expect an answer next time I go Rowan .. the poniless one xxx

I am going for Review tomorrow with the chemo team and my denusomab injection , I am taking no prisoners !! I want my hickman line removing and I want dates for my radiotherapy ... and a pony and ,,,,
