Hi Nickynew. Welcome to the thread. The thought of Chemo is very scary but reading some of the posts from ladies that have already gone through their treatment is giving me some comfort as it doesn't seem as bad as I imagine. I too suffer a lot of anxiety which seems to come in waves. Things that I would normally take in my stride are being blown out of proportion. I feel sorry for my family just now as they're not used to seeing me like this or maybe they've always thought I was nuts.... I know what you mean it's better thinking that you've no choice but to go through the treatments but if it stops this horrible disease coming back its worth it. I also start chemo on 10th January then Herceptin for a year 4weeks radiotherapy and 5 years of hormone treatment. Im quite worried about the chemo but reading posts from those that have gone through it, it sounds doable. And it's not such a stress when you know the treatment plan, but I'm having yet another night of not sleeping. Going now to search for some tips on dealing with this. Hi Petal88. The pain was tension based after all. I found using a heat gel pack (the one that goes in the microwave) great and after using it for a couple of nights the pain just went. I read that if you put heat into muscles they can't hold on to tension. I'm so sorry that you've been told that the cancer has spread. Does that mean its in your lymph nodes? I had a lumpectomy and SNB on 4th December and all went well and the lymph nodes are clear. I got my treatment plan today and start chemo on 10th Jan. I've to get Herceptin for a year. I've also to get Radiotherapy after the chemo for 4 weeks and will have to take hormone tablets for 5 years. Although it seems a like a lot of treatment, I feel much less stress now that I know what's happening. I'm sorry you're going through so much and hope all goes well with the scans. Hi ladies. The title of this thread caught my attention as it really describes exactly what I feel. 'Mixed emotions'. I had a lumpectomy and sentinel biopsy 2 weeks ago and got my treatment plan today. I'm having quite a few sleepless nights and at times it is so hard to keep positive. I've been terrified, relieved, anxious, sad, hopeful, up, down and sometimes just numb. Hi Sue, I'm also starting Chemo in Jan. It is quite scary but reading some of the posts from other ladies who have already gone through their treatment keeps me positive. I was feeling very low tonight so have been reading lots of posts on the forum. I went onto the Jan 14 thread and asked to join them. I think the thread is attracting more posts now as sadly more and more of us are getting their treatment plans but with the great support from our loved ones and all the great gals on this forum we will all get thru this! Hi. I'd like to join you lovely ladies on this thread if that's ok. I had a lumpectomy on 4th Dec and due to start Chemo in January. I had a grade 3 tumour oestrogen+ and HERS2+ which means I get the whole menu of treatment. Lymph nodes were clear. I've had a look at some of the other threads from those who have already went thru treatment and a lot of ladies are saying it wasn't as bad as they had imagined. It's great to hear that and helps to keep us positive. I'm 51 with 2 grown up children and 2 adorable grandchildren. Hello Dawn. Thank you for posting a reply for me. I found it really comforting to know that you have got through so much and that herceptin has been so effective. You have encouraged me to get through this and stop my imagination running riot with the "what ifs". I will mention my pains to the BCN tomorrow when I go for my pre-op. but I think it probably is just tension. I've not been told of any planned bone scans but I'll ask tomorrow. Take Care. x ...
