Hello Winters - sorry to hear that you are going through this worrying time. Do you have an appointment date? This waiting time can be very difficult - try to find things you can do to take your mind of it, even if just for a short while. I set myself small goals for each day so that I had something else to focus on. Also, try not to google - easier said than done as I know from my own experience. There is a lot of outdated and incorrect information out there. Wishing you well Hadders x

Hello everyone. I'm just starting on this journey as I was diagnosed last Thursday. I will be having WLE with sentinel node removal next Monday, with radiotherapy at some point later. Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experiences in such frank and honest ways. I feel that difficult times are easier to cope with if you know what to expect - and have found it frustrating not to be able to get a clear answer about possible effects (must stop googling!) From reading your posts, I feel much more prepared for what is to come. Wishing you all the best, whatever stage you are at. Love and cyber hugs xx

Hi Lisa - I was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer and am feeling similar things to you. I think I am probably still taking it in and just haven't reacted yet, but we do all cope with things in different ways. Ihope you have people around you who can support you as deal with how you are feeling. Wishing you all the best xx

My news wasn't great - invasive ductal carcinoma - but it's small and all the pointers are towards it being treatable - so definitely not the worst news. Having a lumpectomy with sentinel node removal on the 17th so will know more about stage/ grade after that but am feeling mostly positive at the moment. Thanks for all the support xx

If you are worried you should ask about it when you go for your results - and keep asking until you feel reassured. Belinda - excellent news, really pleased to hear that. thank you everyone for your good wishes. Unfortunately, my news isn't the best - it is a cancer, but it is small and oestrogen + so not the worst news. The staff at the clinic were lovely and I am in a positive frame of mind. Also, like Belinda, I had core biopsy after inconclusive scan. The nurse explained everything fully and I barely felt a thing. Was quite bruised for a few days afterwards, but not too painful. I work with children and was slightly anxious about going back to work the next day, but was fine. Might be a good idea to ask when you have it done though as you say you do heavy lifting. Hope it all goes ok - will be thinking of you xx

Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone can help with my query. At my initial appointment, I saw one consultant who ordered the mammogram and ultrasound which lead to the biopsy. I a due to get my results on Thursday at the same clinic, but from a different consultant. Is this usual to be seen by more than consultant? I realise it probably doesn't mean anything but my mind is overdrive at the moment. Thanks Hope everyone is doing ok today Hadders x

Hi Hijaqs, Sounds like you have a very supportive family around you. So far, I have only told my partner and my eldest daughter as I don't want to cause them to worry. My daughter took it much better than I expected and I know I will have lots of support from them if I have to break bad news to the other two girls. Hi Donn68, Sorry to hear that you are going through this worrying time. If you read the other posts on here, you will see lots of women describe waiting to know what their symptoms mean as very difficult. We all deal with it in different ways; some people talk to family and friends , others need to keep busy - but this forum has been a massive support to me and many other people whilst we wait and I hope it will be for you too. I know you will be wanting as much information as you can find, but try not to google - there is a lot of misinformation out there. The helpline here is open till 2pm on Saturdays and is a much better source of information that is relevant to you. Good luck xx

After what seems like an absolute age, I finally an appointment for my biopsy results - next Thursday at 9am. The calm of denial is giving way to the butterflies of panic. Fortunately, as a single parent of 3 teenage girls, I have plenty of other worries to use the butterflies on till then. Thank you to everyone on here who takes the time to offer support and reassurance - this really is a fantastic support. xx

Hi Hotlips - I was told it could be 2-3 weeks before I get my results. I had my biopsy on the 15th and heard nothing yet - from the posts on here it seems that there is quite a variety in the lengths of time that it takes. This waiting is hard, but as you will see from the other posts there are lots of lovely people on here who will help get you through it with kind words and reassurance. Wishing you well and hoping that you get good news soon. x
