I got my chemo start date through in the post yesterday - 12th February - it has just hurled me into a whirlpool of anxiety and stressfulness.  I am scared and incredibly tearful.  I have been very snappy with the family as well.  I am totally dreading it.  I am having FEC and FEC-T combined.  Apparently you initially start with the FEC and then move on to the FEC-T - is anyone else having the same ?  Also has anyone got any tips for coping with anxiety.  Sometimes I am so bad before appointments that I am actually physically sick.  I know I am going to be a nightmare by the time the 12th comes round.  Good luck to you lot starting this week - my thoughts are with you xxxxxx Pinkrunner xxxx ... Hi Butterfly318 and Grumpy   God I know exactly where you are coming from !!!!!!  Im just about to start chemo and obviously feeling very anxious and distressed etc.  What really annoys are the people who say to you - you dont have to go through any of this alone - we will be there for your.  Then you don't hear from them for weeks ! Lol !  I am lucky though because most of my friends have stuck by me.  Although sometimes when they text or ring I don't want to talk to them and one of my friends can be quite persistent !  This does **bleep** me off somewhat - they don't really know what you're going through - sometimes you don't want to talk to anyone,  Still chin up girls apparrently it's not as bad as it use to be !!!!! - Really ????!!!!!!: xxxxxx Pinkrunner xxxxx ... I had my node clearance on 5 December and still havent managed to shave under the arm ! Lol !  My daughter bought me a lady razor but I feel a bit nervous about using it.  Now you've plucked up the courage to do yours - I think I may have to reassess the situation.  I was never given any advice about deodourant although obviously didnt wear any for a while.  I just bought a non-alcohol naturel roll on.  What advice re de-odourant can any one give ?  xxxx Pinkrunner xxx ... Hi HFK1234   So sorry to hear what's happening to you at the moment.  Like you I felt very angry and cross as I had healed up quite well after the first op and they go through the same scar.  It is so difficult trying to be strong for everyone around you too - especially when you have young children.  I just felt that during the surgery - results - more surgery etc.. - it was just one looooong wait filled with anxiety.  I presume they have given you a date for the mastectomy now ?  The only thing I can say is to re-iterate what Alex said and take one step at a time.  It is bloody hard and I find that people around me are probably getting fed-up with the 'cancer' talk.  Just keep looking forward and try and think of all the lovely things you will be doing in 2015 when this nightmare is finally over :))))).  Keep you chin up hun - it will turn out all right in the end. xxxxx Pinkrunnerxxxx ... Hi Beebeck   I know exactly where you are coming from.  I had a Stage 2 tumour removed in december and 1/15 of my lymph nodes was positive.  Unlike yourself I can have tamoixifen as mine was ER positive.  The oncologist has receommended chemotherapy and I totally dread it and have considered refusing it and just having radiotherapy and tamoxifen.  My husband says he wouldn't take the chemo but having got two daughters I feel that I have no choice to give myself the chance of being around for them.  It is so so difficult to make a decision.  Are you considering refusing it then ?   The Oncologist said that it is obviously my choice but I don't feel I have a choice.   xxxxx Pinkrunner xxxx ...
