Hi Lisa I was diagnosed on Jan 13 and had lumpectomy an axillary clearance on 6th feb. Next week I start chemo. I went to work after being diagnosed and apart from managment and class colleagues didnt inform anyone else I had cancer. I worked for two weeks and coped really well but by about 3rd week was tired and decided that I would go sick ( I have ME as well and needed to be fit for op). Yesterday was told that I would have to have aggressive chemo becuase of amount of lymoh nodes involved. I think thast when it his me especially as now face longer treatment than originally thought. My husband said that the worst was over on diagnosis and now his support is you arent bedridden or infirm you can still get out even if its just walking up and down street ( still cant drive becaes of pain op). The fact that you have op and then are left to own devizes doesnt help. I feel as If Im not emotionally allowed to let go, I dont even know if Ive accepted its cancer as "its" been removed. I am used to being ill, tired, exhausted but not looking ill because of the ME. At the stage I am with cancer Im not ill...husband is aware that chemo will make me a little tired but " you're always tired so you can cope". Maybe when chemo kicks in it will become "real" and the emotional rolercoaster will kick in.. I dont know but rest assured you arent only one who is emotionally numb

Got results of CAT scan body is clear of cancer although seem to have some sort of ovarian cyst that needs to be seen to. I have op on Tuesday.....lumpectomy and all lymph nodes/some muscle removed. Surgeon says will try lumpectomy but might need masectomy. I asked him what cacer type and he said general non specific. They planned on chemo first to try to shrink tumour..will I stilll need it if operation removes the cancerous tissue. He said chemo usually starts 3 weeks after surgery

Afer 3 weeks I am back at clinic tomorrow for results of CAT scan and decision whether I have chemo or surgery first after I chose surgery when they wanted chemo first as it would maybe make surgery easier. I am now beginning to panic as the actual realiy is kicking in. Id been managing to work since was diagnosed beginning January with 2 cancerous sites including lymph glands. Gave up work on Tuesday as I kept breaking down in tears mainly through tiredness and worry I think ( ME wasnt great either as both affect it). Now Im begiining to feel sick. Everyone at work says I'll get through it as Im the strongest person they know a really strong person ( mind you they think Im organised so I obviously put out different vibes to reality). I know that tomorrow it will be just decision re start date so still will have to wait before treatment but its the no going back finality ( wrong word but you know what I mean)

Hi I was diagosed Friday and told that I would have to have ct scan, chemo, surgery and radiotherapy alos that the oncologist would gibe me more information. Dependant on whether I went on chemo trial would deped whether I could have surgery or chemo firsts but I would be allowed to decided. Went to apt today and saw chemo dr first who assumed I had had all the information, had taleked to the surgeon and had had all the scans necessary. He then went on to talk about the chemo. I explained that as I had ME (chronic fatigue syndrome) which was relatively under control at minute I would prefer to have surgery first. ME makes me exhausted and non funtioning. I explained that when I had biopsies Monday I had to spend Wed and Thurs i bed. I just thought it would make mores sense especially if Chemo makes you tired and suppresses immunity ( aother side effect of ME). I am i good health at minute and will recover better from surgery. Anyway that sempt to completely throw him snad ended up waitig for surgeon..I again explained reasons and effects of ME. He went to speak to chemo bloke. Now I have to wait for CT scans which can be a two week rate. I have a feeling that I will still end up with chemo first as it makes surgery easier. Has anybody else gone through this

Hi havent joined any threads yet as just making sense of different forums. I see oncologist Monday re treatment. I have to have surgery and chemo but depending on whether I take up trial is which one I have first. I have ME so the shorter I can keep sessions the better. Im not worried about losing hair..its usually short anyway but is shoulder length at minute which drives me nute ( My ME means I ave to have energy to get to hairdresser and fit it in with work load. I never have my hair blow dried because I cats stand them messing around with head). Just wondered if it was with the chemo.. the breast nurse said I would lose my hair (but do you know I never even thought about eyebrows) Thanks

The said that I will need all . I found misshape rather than lump and then they found 2 lumps in breast and 2 in lymph so I assume thats why I will need all 3. date for surgery appears to sepend on whether I go on the trial...hopefully will know more Monday..I just feel overwhelmed at minute as this time last week I was doing normal working hours and suddenly I am possibly looking at long term sick depending on how treatment effects my ME..

Hi Was diagnosed Friday with level 2 cancer ( is this same as Stage 2) I am to have axilliary surgery, chemo and radiotherapy. Seeing oncologist Monday to discuss treatment. They want to discuss going on a trial but I have ME and at minute its manageble. Investigations on Monday of ultrasound, mammogram and 2 biopsies meant Wed and Thursday I was bedridden. If I go on a trial first then I think it will make it harder to recover from surgery as I get tired easily anyway. We shall see

HI A bit about myself, Im 54, married two 20 year olds and TA in special school but I have ME as well. On Monday I had mammogram, ultrasound and biopsies after they had found 4 lumps( I had only found 1 but it was more missshape than lump) 2 in braest and 2 underarm. The worst bit was waiting for results which I received yesterday..two areas are cancerous so am down for chemo, surgery and radiotherapy. I see the oncologist Monday. Due to my ME the biopsies Monday laid me out Wed and Thurs so side effects of tiredness might be interesting. I dont have large family or large circle of friends ( Im not social type of person) but realise will need support outside of family for all the stupid little worries/questions that will turn up.
