Firstly Kelly, I am so sorry to hear of your mum, we too are going through same at present....my mum was diagnosed last week, but we won't know about the lymph nodes u til she has her lumpectomy in 2 weeks time. I just wondered how your mum found out about her lymph nodes so soon before operation? Xx

Oh bless you. I am the other way round, worrying about my mother at the moment who was diagnosed last week with greade 3 triple negative invasive duct carcinoma but I have a teenage daughter and its is beyond my comprehension what you must be going through... I feel for you caz. My mum is unable to face anything like this and prefers to live in ignorant bliss....she has not even told anybody yet. She would never read anything like this...it's up to me to be aware and on the ball with I all. I will live this breast cancer for her on the cyber world! I think I'm probably more worried than her anyway...what's happening with you next maz? Our op is scheduled for 20th feb...

Thanks ladies....we went for results yesterday and found out it is both hormone and her2 negative,,,so I am assuming it is triple negative....as that's the only other one I can find if no oestrogen and her2 receptive. Reading about this is worrying....as apparently the TNBC has more chance of metastising and of reoccurring within the first few years after chemo!? Also, although the bloods came back fine, I am worried that the cancer may have spread elsewhere in her body. When I asked how we could know this, the nurse just told me that they do not do cancer finding blood tests, and the only way of knowing would be symptomatic problems:( so as it stands, we don know if it's travelled elsewhere, she has an aggressive tumour and she is not being operated on u til feb 20th!! Very worrying. They said they will take the sentinel node out first, check that, and if there is any sign of cancer in the sentiment el node then they will take further lymph nodes out.....I just wish the next three weeks would hurry up and get this over with. It's a living nightmare. I've also started to get pain in my right breast, like a needle being pushed Into the side of the breast. It eased up when I had a hot bath before but it's nagging again now:( I keep rubbing the bread to ease the pain away. No lump. Just a needle like pain. ..... Could this be stress caused by the worry!?? Scared....

Mum has been diagnosed with grade 3 invasive ducal oestrogen negative carcinoma. Words aggressive and invasive have got us worried sick. What can we expect....if she is her2 receptive is this good or bad? What are chances it's already spread!? We had bloods yesterday and X-ray and get results this week. Lumpectomy on 16th feb. why r we waiting so long......sorry....feeling worried angry and uncertain of her future:((( Suzanne

I am writing on behalf of my mum. She found a lump the size of a grape 3 weeks ago. We have been advised yesterday that it is a grade 3 invasive ducttal carcinoma which is oestrogen receptor negative. She has a lumpectomy on 16th feb and they will look at lymph glands at that time and check if she is HER2. We don't k ow what to expect...whether there is any chance at this point of mets?? (It's invasive and aggressive which is frightening) ...and why are they leaving it 3 weeks before removing an agressive cancer?! Has anybody else had this diagnosis, how are you now and the worst question of all, what is the prognosis? Worried, Suzanne
