Bummer!!!! So sorry you can't make it. Chemo really is pants isn't it. I had to cancel many a plan through one illnesss or another throughout treatment and it really sucks Big time. I got to the stage where I refused to make any plans because I couldn't Bare thedisappointment. Hope you feel better soon. Have you got a haven near you? They run little days like thus all the time. The other thing you can do is a look good feel better day where you get a free makeover and hundreds of£ of lovely makeup, they run fairly regularly to do if you can't make one you might make the Next. Hi I am Jo, and from Tonbridge in Kent. I was diagnosed with IDC feb 2012 when I was 41, had chemo then surgery, then rads and now on tamoxifen. The lady I saw was called Chris wise and she works 2 days a week in London fir a lymphoedema consultant and from her home near Deal the rest of the time. Hi Catherine, so sorry you need more surgery. I had laparoscopy in Jan due to gynae probs caused by tamox but they decided once they were in there not to do anything!!!! @Angie- the best thing to Do is not be too active today. Keep the arm slightly elevated while sitting and avoid hanging it down low while walking around. Avoid vigorous activity today if poss. Ring yourBCN. Tomorrow and get an appointment asap to have it assessed. @helena- deep tissue isolation is an unusual therapy in this country but widely used on the continent especially in Germany. It involves gentle electric cuteness which vibrate through the tissue and encourage the lymphatic flow. I don't know where you live but I googled lymphoedema treatment in Kent and found a private Nurse specialist who lives near Dover. Want that expensive either. About£40 and I was there over 2 hours. Don't know if it works but it seemed to help me and it certainly can't do any harm! ... View more

Thanks zuleika, I will look out for that book. I do have a mindfulness book but find it quite hard to read. Ur was written by the Buddhist monk who invented it but maybe your guy puts it in an easier to read format! I did tell my onc about ask my side effects and whilst very sympathetic ask she did was emphasize the extent of my cancer ( larger size, multiple tumors, multiple nodes affected) and therefore the importance of tamox. She did suggest acupuncture but I am really needle phobic since all this treatment so that's not going to happen! Xx ... View more

No probs. So glad you're nearly done. I will never forget my last docetaxol. I had on 26th June (not that it's etched on my brain or anything!!!), 4 days before my birthday. Do guess what I did for my birthday that year!! I was laid up in bed waiting for the pains to go! Everyone kept saying to me "oh you must be so excited to have finished chemo, and I kept thinking, actually no, I am in agony, can barely walk cos the muscle fatigue is now so bad and in four weeks I will have surgery. In the meantime, as you say, there were many appointments to attend. One was the day before surgery to have wires inserted into the tumours under ultrasound, followed by a mammogram to check the position. We could book something up towards the end of April and then if you're well enough to come you can, if not then we'll do another one after you're op maybe. Anyway sending you lots of Good wishes.
