Hi Lovewine - I'm good thanks, have finally just finished work (well I will do at the end of August) after completing the longest period of notice ever (about 18 months !) So, heading in a new direction of travelling in our new camper van and picking up some part time work and a few other new ventures to try and earn a bit of cash, but first a couple of months off planning what next. Hi all   Cassie - your walk sounds an interesting experience - were you walking near where you live? Rosie - I hope that your buyers turn out to be the ones for you - it's such a pain selling a house - I'm sure it could be much easier and that's in the UK where we know what to expect - I can't imagine doing it abroad !! Lovewine - love the blind - where did you get it ?   The last mammogram i had I got the appointment through no problem but had to wait nearly 6 weeks for the results - which was a little stressful to say the least, I think there was a backlog ! I've just been to the GP today to moan about my ongoing joint pain which never seems to go away but she just said talk to the oncologist when I see them (which is February and I'm pretty sure they won't be at all interested) oh well it was worth a try.   Dunkirk was a great film, I can't say that I enjoyed watching it as I found it fairly traumatic but brilliantly made, really made me think about what it must have been like. Hi all,   I've been trying to pick apples all day from the trees in the garden but haven't managed more than a few rain free minutes before the downpours have come so maybe try again tomorrow. I'm still at school although major excitement (and a bit of scaredness) I've handed my notice in so will finish head teachering at Christmas. I havent actually got another job yet and am not even sure what I will do but I know that I want a bit of time back in my life and less stress and responsibility than I currently have. I feel like I have managed to get back to my pre cancer work rate which I'm pleased at but now I've done that I can stop and try something else...... so we will see what happens !! Most of all I'm looking forward to being able to take a holiday during term time ... how weird ! Its nice to hear that you have kept meeting up with each other over the last couple of years, what a lovely thing to continue to do, it was all such a significant time in our lives that there are still so few people that will ever know what it was like to go through what we did so its no surprise really !   Rosie - are you moving from Cyprus and are you still at school too ?    Have a good evening all - we are off to see Dunkirk at the cinema tonight x ... Hi all,   Good to hear from you all and glad that you all seem to be keping well and getting on with life - Rosie I presume you are in the UK at the moment - how long are you here for?  Lovewine - yes it would be lovely to catch up - I often pop over to market harborough becasue that's where I go to get the chicken's food from, and I quite like a wander around the town too. I'll try and find out about the bosom buddies - I swing between trying not to pay too much attention to the cancer thing and thinking of nothing else ! I'm in a "thinking of nothing else" phase at the moment ! The oncologist is pretty sure that everything is tamoxifen related but Im not so sure - as I've had a few tamoxifen breaks and I still feel the same. At the last appointment I had another blood test to check hormone levels as the last few tests have consistently shown a low reading of about 70 - probably suggesting I am post menopausal which meant he was going to try me on armotase inhibitors instead of tamoxifen .... typically though this blood test showed  a hormone level of 850 ish, meaning that my ovary has started working again ... oh good lol ! so back to square 1 really. I can't complain too much though, life is pretty good really. I'm going to the Gambia next week for a week which will be great and I'm looking forward to some sunshine and I've got a couple of weeks now to try and catch up on my sleep. 11:26 PM Hi ... I've just posted this in the wrong place ... Hopefully this is right now ! Hello everyone. I thought I'd pop in and say hello. So ... Hello! I hope that you are all ok, I've had a little look over the thread but it's quite a lot to catch up on. However, it's lovely to see that you still keep in touch with each other on a regular basis - shows what an important resource this forum is. It's the Easter holidays which is why I have a bit of time to post, I'll check back over the next couple of weeks too. I think of you all often and try as I might to get away from anything cancer related it still dominates my life which kind of annoys me really but .... Generally all is well here .... Full time work etc but still struggling with sleep (or lack of it !) terrible hot flushes and horrible joint pain. On the positive side I have just had a clear mammogram which is good but also had to have a bone scan to see if my joint pain was bone mets ... Which it wasn't thank goodness but I had to wait a few weeks to find out ....slightly scary ! I hate the fact that this won't go away and that I try and get on with my life but I still feel very affected by breast cancer ... Anyway I'm hoping that you can put me right and that you won't mind me having a bit of a moan even though I've not been around for a while. I hope you understand ... View more

morning Rosie, morning Lovewine. Yes it's welland Valley Feed ... It's the nearest place that does the food we give them so have been familiarising myself with the south of the county a bit recently. Glad to hear you're both doing ok. Rosie, our school has gone cancer mad this month, which whilst I know it's a good thing, I have also found it a bit difficult ...not really sure why? I hope you are all doing ok and enjoying life, sorry I don't use the forum very much these days but do think of you all often. it was this time last year that we were just heading out to Paphos,cant believe that's a year ago ! It's amazing how quickly the time has gone.  I went to wistow today for lunch and thought of you love wine, also been heading to market harborough as there's a place there to get chicken food from, maybe meet up next time I go over?  Hope that Wildpurl, Joan and Cassie are all keeping well too..... Hi all,   Sorry I have just found a post that I thought I had posted after our meet up, was obviously in a rush and didnt press post ! Morning all, it's a very early morning for me, lots of things going on, 2 school events last night, induction day today and sports day tomorrow, then rewards, activities, assemblies, staff leaving, people moving classrooms etc etc ... I will be so glad when next Friday arrives, I'm very much looking forward to holidays this year, it will be nice to have a summer without having to endure the side effects of chemo 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 I'm pleased to report that the chicken run is nearly ready for its rescue girls to take occupation, although we will probably wait until after our holiday before they arrive.... Eggsciting though 🍳 🍳 🍳 I will definitely be at the meet up on 25th, looking forward to catching up with you all. Cassie, has your daughter managed to get a school place for her son yet? Joan, if you find out where to shove the Rosemary re hot flushes let me know haha ... Still suffering with those, I'm currently on a longer tamoxifen break to see if that helps but no joy so far, although having them in this weather makes them feel normal and less distressing ... Every cloud ! Lovewine, I can't imagine being over a steam iron in the last couple of days, did you say you had an apt coming up, if so, hope it's ok? Wildpurl, you sound like you back into your exercise after surgery, really well done there, I still haven't managed that a year down the line ... Maybe over the summer! Lovewine, it sounds as though your family have been through a lot of things over the last year, mental health issues are hard to deal with, harder to understand I think and harder to find the right way to support. Your post made me laugh.... I read it and thought you had been really good about the muffins but then I saw the chocolate comment 🍫 🍫 🍫 , my downfall is crisps ! I Have found an alternative therapy centre in Leicester that I have got someone ringing me back from in a bit... I think they thought I was mad when they asked what the problem was ... I listed quite a few things lol ... Bloomin cancer .. It wouldn't be so bad if it all just stopped at the end of chemo and radio but no ... On and on and on and on .. Morning all, happy bank holiday. I love not working, could get used to it if I let myself ! Rosie - that sounds a bit serious to be without any wi fi for that long. 3 weeks is no time at all for recovery, you sound like you are doing well. I havent quite cleared the space for the chickens yet, one more bash at it should do it, we have quite a big garden so plenty of space to put garden waste before you have to clear it up, we are burning some stuff and putting some through the chipper. We have some friends coming later so today is all about cooking.  Thanks Lovewine for the brainwave, I had a look at the website and might give them a go or look nearer home, I don't suppose your friend would be able to ask if there is an equivalent place in Leicester ? Glad you finished the decorating, Wildpurl is right, it's so satisfying when it's finished, you definitely deserve that wine and baguette today. Are Foxton Locks near you? Wildpurl, hope you enjoy your walk today, have oyu been spinning as in on a bike or with wool ? I presuming that Joan has gone to the book festival at Hay, I didnt realise it was on until I realised that every Radio programme seemed to being broadcast from there.
