Hi Ladies, Last day of August now, hope everyone going into Sepetember with treatment all goes well. I am 10 days after treatment and as I was told you get worse before getting better it's very true, all very red sore and want to scratch continually but if I do scratch even a wee bit it's agony! Hi ladies, I'm just back from a long weekend in a lovely hotel with family. Had my last treatment on Thursday, should've been Wednesday but machine was being serviced that day and I couldn't wait or go back. I got aqueous cream to use but not put any cream on as yet, specialist said to try not use anything if possible till 2 weeks after (as it could cause irritation) I'm just a wee bit itchy and it has got quite sore and very red now. Hi Sisterjayne, Yes I've got 3 to go now next week same as you. I'm just really tired now looking forward to easy weekend off. Skin is a wee bit red sorest part is under arm where the lymph nodes were removed. Once treatment is over I've got some nice Australian teatree oil lotion to slap on. Hi Girls, Had 7th blast today, all going well. 8 to go. It takes me 40 mins to get there due to traffic across town. Cancer patients going for treatment or appointments have a separate free car park with a park attendant so we don't have to wait or find a space, which works really well. My youngest daughter (31 with Autism and special needs, I am her full time carer) was always asking what I get done, so the lovely staff let her in with me and explained everything to her and let her watch me on the screen when I was lying on the table. Hi Atat, I had to wait longer than usual as I had a seroma with an infection, my WLE and SNB was on 29th April. I had a scan on 2nd July before my oncology appointment so had to wait. 4 down 11 to go. Hope everyone is well. Carole x ... View more

Thanks Jane and Keeks, I am in Edinburgh too, my surgery was on 29 April so quite a while back. I've been back and forward to the hospital so I'm used to being there. (My youngest daughter has Autism, special needs and chronic intestinal Psuedo obstruction so it's our second home). With all the tests you get for the breast cancer it was discovered I might need my parathyroid removed so waiting to find out more about that. Hi Helen, Thank you for the hugs really appreciated. :-)) Had my tattoos redone as first ones were not clear enough, only 3 for me. It's strange how all over the country we get different advice re lotions and potions, I thought it weird when I was told no cream at all, I have dry skin and always plastering on body lotion (mostly Marks &Spencers lavender body lotion). Hi Marleyann, So sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but you have made the right decision to come on this forum. Everyone on here is lovely, knows how you feel and will help you as much as possible, and answer your questions honestly. When you are feeling down always come on here for support. Do you have a date for surgery yet? I had my lumpectomy 4 weeks ago and now waiting to start my next step of treatment. Time has really gone quite quick since my diagnosis on 2 April. Hi Ladies, So I had my appointment today, and got the percentage benefit from the Prediction which is about 6% for me. I asked the surgeon what he would recommend if his wife was in my situation and more or less agreed with me (tho he wouldn't commit himself). He said he would support my decision, so I will get an appointment for next Thursday to see chemo doctor. Chemo has to start within 3 months of surgery so I should think it will be soon. Carole x ... Hi Lulu, Yes my BCN phoned me so she arranged an appointment for me on Thursday. (I'll be at hospital a while as I've an app with the endocrinology dept to see about my parathyroid) I also had a phone call about an hour later from one of the other surgeons asking how I was and if I knew what was happening as my notes had ended up on his desk, he was very good and explained a bit more. He said I should get an app with the oncologist soon to talk things over about my treatment, so should get that arranged on Thursday.
