GOOD NEWS: I attended The Magnolia clinic today and was diagnosed with thickened breast tissue and a 2.5cm cyst which they aspirated whilst I was there. The clinic was absolutely fantastic, such a friendly and reassuring atmosphere. I just want to thank all you lovely ladies on here for all your kind words of support which you have offered me over the last four weeks. Hi, I've had trouble with cysts in my breasts for the last 8 years. Like you my breasts are very painful too and I have got to the point where there are so many I don't know what's new and what's not. I've recently found a very large mass and so have been referred again third ref in 8yrs). This mass is large like a huge pebble. What has really sickened me is the length of time I've had to wait for my appointment, 4 weeks! Every sympathy Hun x

I know what you mean by it affecting your family. I am my parent's only child. They would be beside themselves if I am diagnosed with BC. I just don't know how I'll be able to tell them or how to help them cope. It's awful x

Thanks Fel, I'm at the clinic on the 29th. I feel that my condition has been completely mismanaged. I've never once had any of my cysts drained, never asked if I wanted the opportunity to have it done in fact!!!! Thanks again and take care xxxx

Hi Everyone I'm feeling so strung out at the moment. This is the third time I've Ben referred in 6 years. The stress is unbearable! The thought of having to go through other episodes like this for the rest of my life is unthinkable. Last night I even thought that what ever the outcome of the tests I would just ask for a double mastectomy any way. My breasts are both full of cysts and it's getting difficult to recognise what's new and what's been there a while. I completely get how you both feel. Big hugs to you both xxxx

I think it's ok if you need to cry. I had to walk out on my mum the other day as I couldn't talk about it. I felt awful for doing it as she was only trying to help. I just feel numb, almost as if it's happening to someone else. I still haven't found out what I'm dealing with. You're not silly at all as this is enough to test anyone. Take care xxxx

I considered going private but was put off when I read another forum members comment saying that if you needed treatment via NHS then you'd still have to wait. You'd just know a lot sooner. It's a double edged sword. It's 2 weeks since I saw my GP and it'll be another 2 weeks before my appointment at the Magnolia centre. The waiting is horrendous x

TBH cysts can present very differently. I have several cysts in both breasts and there are no two alike. You can't know what it is until it's properly investigated at a breast clinic. I am also waiting to have a newly discovered lump investigated and again it's vastly different to the other lumps I've found. Good luck and I hope you have a happy outcome x
