morning, been in the shower this morning and the lump has completely disappeared. I’m not imagining it as the GP felt it too. Now I’m worried I will be wasting the hospitals time. Thank you for your reply. I’m at work which is a slight distraction. It’s the waiting I can’t bear. I’m running on an hours sleep. I keep prodding and poking where the lump is and I’ve actually caused a bruise. Trying to leave it alone now. Might see if the hospital has a cancellation so I can get it over with.

Didn’t think I’d be back here. Why is it always the right breast. Been to doctors this morning as felt small hard lump in breast (upper close to armpit). I’m 47 years old and definitely peri menopausal as not had period for 2 months. Dr felt it said it was mobile and very localised and almost rubbery. Thought it was a fatty lump or cyst. Going for mammogram a week on Friday. Absolutely terrified. As anyone else had cysts. I’ve previously had mammogram 4 years ago and in the same area was a fatty lump. Can they grow or separate.

Hi am completely stressed, had pain in breast, went to the doctors who advised she thought it was muscular, this was a month ago. I have since been back yesterday as my right breast hangs slightly lower than the left and the nipples are not level. I have a referral and am completely scared stiff. I have health anxiety and it has made me focus on the breast to the point I am not even sure that it has always been like it. I know people think it's normal but I'm scared.

I had exactly the same, even managed to find a slight "ridge". Got a referral to clinic but it was 3 weeks away and as I'm lucky enough to have private health got in straight away. Turned out to be nothing, had mammograms and ultrasound. Was a fatty lump and the pain was purely hormonal. Suggested taking star flower tablets. It has improved greatly since. Try not to worry too much.

Hi and welcome. Keeks is right, I was certain my lump was cancer, was even contemplating cancelling my hair appt as had got to the chemo stage in my head. Mine turned out to be a fatty lump. Keep off google as most of that information is out of date or just wrong. It's easy to say don't worry because that's all you will do. Take care and come on here for support. As keeks said most lumps are NOT cancer.

Fantastic news sweetpea2010. Mine aches more than ever today but after all the prodding, poking I have done together with all the mammograms etc I think it will probably be a bit tender. Have a great weekend. I was recommended starflower tablets and they are buy one get another for a penny in a holland and barret.

Thanks pippadog, was scary for a while as ironically the one I was worried about wasn't the one they were worried about. Have heard so many stories about mammograms. They're uncomfortable yes but not painful and they really do provide the reassurance you need.

Thanks. It was scary for awhile as they found something on the breast I wasn't worried about but it turned out to be nothing. Wishing everyone on here good luck. The waiting is the hardest part but I have been thoroughly checked and am reassured by the consultants.

Thank you. It's not until half 5 so got all day to stew on it. Thank goodness I'm lucky to have been able to go private. Don't think I could take another 2 weeks of this.
