Thinking of you Tweedy....might be worth asking for the biopsy for your peace of mind, that way you'll know for sure. I'm 35, and although my ultrasound looked probably benign, the clinic have taken a biopsy just to rule out anything sinister. Xx

Hi Susan, hearing your worry and am thinking of you. Perhaps you could contact the breast clinic and ask them if they can clarify what tests they wish to carry out? I had a biopsy last week, was really worried about what the procedure entailed but it was fine...hardly any pain, over very quickly, and the nurses explained what was going on the whole time. Xx

Thanks....I was fairly calm to start with, but I'm struggling now. Been keeping busy with work and animals all week, trying to keep my head occupied. Think it's probably worse because in the midst of this, I've been reporting childhood sexual abuse to the police, dealing with a recent sexual assault, and coping with a poorly horse. Just hoping for good news....Thursday is my birthday, so getting good news re the biopsy the day after would be the best birthday present ever. Xx

Hi...just thought I'd write to release the tension a bit. Went to breast clinic last Fri following referral from my GP after I found a lump in my breast. Had ultrasound and a biopsy, go for results on 9th May. Have been staying pretty calm, but it's beginning to catch up with me. Aside from the lump, I've been struggling with pain in the mid section of my back, and around my ribs, and been even more tired than usual. This has been going on for several weeks. I've been putting it down to just one of my quirky symptoms - I have fibromyalgia so tend to get a fair bit of pain and tiredness - but I'm starting to worry that it may be connected to the lump. The doctor at the clinic suspects fibroadenoma, but until the results are back, I'm in limbo. Sorry to off load, have been trying to keep everything calm, but the wait is getting to me. Unfortunately, my partner had to how away the day after my first appointment and isn't home until bank hol Monday, so that's not helping.

Sorry to hear you're going through so much, and feeling so isolated in it. Really hope that you get some good news soon. I'm still waiting for results, so don't have first hand experience of what you're going through, but my foster mum is a breast cancer survivor. At one point, a scan showed a shadow on her spine, and she was terrified that it had spread....it turned out to be something completely innocent, and she has now been in remission for 13 years. Thanks poemsgalore....been trying to keep busy and do everything I normally do, so that I don't get too worried. Most of the time I'm calm, and if it is anything bad, then I'm determined to fight it and get well as soon as possible...it's the not knowing that's getting to me. ( and I'm fairly impatient anyway so that's not helping! ) been feeling a bit rough, but I have fibromyalgia, so the chances are that the tiredness and aching is due to that rather than anything else. Thank goodness for books, animals, terrible TV and other distractions 🙂 x

Hope that you get seen soon. My GP sent the referral by fax the same morning, and the hospital phoned to book an appointment a few hours later....9 days from referral to appointment. Might be worth chasing your doctor again....mentioning the NICE guidelines might give them a nudge, as they should be getting you seen within 2 weeks. thinking of you x
