Sal, I hope you have a good time with your mother this weekend and you can manage to take your mind off things for a bit even if it is a few hours at a time.  I can see what you are saying about waiting for the results and it seems so unnecessary that you have to wait an extra week after the meeting.     Been Christmas shopping today and got totally confused as to what to buy everyone. I'm fine thanks Sal, the foot is still playing up and sometimes it is really bad and I hobble everywhere and other times it is fine - it's a damaged nerve thing so sometimes it gets aggravated and I know all about it.    I can understand you being thrown off kilter by what's going on, but I'm sure they are being cautious.  How is the job going, are you more settled into your routine with it and everything?    xx ... Oh Sal, I'm sorry you have yet another anxious wait for results.  I had a similar thing when I was first diagnosed and had to wait 3 months for another scan before they were satisfied that it was nothing as they had seen something on my spine so i can relate to how you are feeling.   Good that the oncologist gave you some leaway with regards the Tamoxifen, without having to fight for it.   Sending you lots of love and a big supportive hug and I hope you can switch your mind off and have some fun and relaxation if you can.   Jxx ... Hello everyone, sorry I haven't been in touch recently but we decided to go for a cheap and cheerful trip to Lisbon (an Easyjet city break) which was lovely. I am also struggling with Internet connection here at home, not sure what's the problem, and I am not getting any notifications that you are on the forum like I used to so I was oblivious to all your activity! Tara, giving up work is a real change and I found it really strange going from super stressed with my time limited and mapped out to long days with not much happening. I soon found I could be busy doing all sorts though!! Sal, glad your little charge is being a good little thing, but 9 days on the trot sounds like a marathon!! Sam, how are those pots doing? Hi Tara, I went to Vietnam in the summer 14 hr flight! It was fine and I didn't do anything any differently to anyone else - just got up and walked around every so often. After the flight back my bad side was achy like I had sat awkwardly but other than that I had no problems. I found trying to work out when to take the Tamoxifen the most irritating bit with the time difference! Jx ... View more

Hello Tara. You sound like you are having a very sociable time! Sorry you haven't heard about your mammogram but I do think no news is good news. I have had problems with my foot recently (nerve has been damaged) and have had cortisone injections in it but it has caused an infection (been on antibiotics with leg up!) and the injection has made it worse!! It's particularly disappointing as I can't walk properly without lots of pain and one of my pleasures is walking the dogs. Ive had it since May and it is starting to get me down. They are threatening surgery but it will mean a recuperation period of up to 6 months! I am definitely not keen on that at all. Sorry to hear you are unsettled by things at the moment Sal. I know that whenever I have had to deal with any major changes I have felt unnerved and a bit low to begin with, so hopefully once you settle in and get more familiar with the surroundings etc that you will find it easier and less disconcerting.
