Hi Everyone. Rads finished now feel exhausted, skin has managed to hold out so far but I was told to keep on moisturising the skin even when finished. Herceptin every 3 weeks although no Tamoxifen as I wasn't hormone pos.Its a strange feeling not having hospital appointments lined up its been like a second home for so long. Now I'm thinking I wish I could look normal and my hair would grow faster, but it's a small price to pay. Not sure what stage everyone is at but I wish you all well xx ... View more

Hi Ladies Good to read so many have finished chemo now , hope those ladies with side effects recover soon. Going to hospital everyday for rads is sure time consuming especially as I still feel so tired. Not sleeping well due to itchy scalp and skin I think it may be a side effect of Herceptin ,but it's so annoying . Had a busy day today looking after Poppy and my friends two dogs at the moment they are all asleep bless! Can I join the club in felling fed up,I ve finished chemo but am exhausted not sure if it's the Herceptin but my bones ache and I have hardly any energy to do simple tasks. I'm fed up of the wig it's horrible and only wear it occasionally and then snatch it off as soon as I get through the door. I've tried to pencil in my eyebrows and then of course one side will rub off and it looks ridiculous . My hair is growing back so slowly and my scalp itches terrible especially at night I've tried lotions and potions to make hair and eyebrows grow but I'm ready to give up but it's hard to accept looking in the mirror and seeing a hardly recognisable face. Hi Ladies Well done to those who have had there last chemo,PETA sorry you are feeling so down I hope you pick up soon. Jingo these hospital appointments are a nightmare how time consuming. I went for first rads today, not feeling too well since Herceptin injection yesterday but rads appointment was delayed 40 minutes as they serviced the machine , went to the pharmacy for eye drops 20 min wait. Total time away from home 3hrs 15 min just to go to a rads appointment . When I next have Herceptin at home the nurse has to sit with me for 2hrs as its protocol oh well it's better than a hospital visit . Hope everyone is feeling as best they can xx ... View more

Hi Ladies Not posted for a while but am keeping up with the posts just about as there is a lot going on and we are all at different stages. Have been to the hospital today for a pre rads check , then back to the hospital tomorrow to see the Herceptin Nurse and to have the injection , then back the day after to have the rads. Wish it could be organised to have appointments on one day instead of different days. Hope all ladies are well good luck to those still having chemo and lots of hugs to any ladies in hospital xx ... Hi Ladies So sorry you're in Hospital Peta I hope you feel better soon without having to have an operation you've been through enough. Jingo I never thought of an Aloe Vera tablet I must admit I have to disguise the taste in Orange juice , there are so many supplements out there it's hard knowing which ones to take. Hi Ladies I've started to drink Aloe Vera juice it has bee recommended to me by a lady that has previously had breast cancer and it helped in her recovery and she still has it now. It's full of vitamins that help healing of mouth ulcers and encourages hair growth and lots of other things Does anyone else drink this ? Xx ... View more

Hi Ladiies , Hope everyone is getting through the side effects as best they can , Mystermouse I think the side effects have been hard this time I had managed to get away without mouth ulcers but not this time I also have them on my tongue and mouth. Bettypoppit the lethargy is awful seems to last forever , I haven't eaten a lot recently and my appetite seems to have dwindled. I've taken a multivitamin tablet not sure if anyone else takes them or even if they help but when I look in the mirror I look so pale and worn out. Hope everyone has a good weekend xx ... View more

Hi Peta As I have twitching eyes I played your fun game and stuck my tongue out in the mirror What a horrible sight it is , and yes it does twitch and roll how strange my tongue also has a red tip.Ha Ha oh well it's something to amuse myself with . Wonder if it will stop twitching when the eyes do. The shampoo I'm using is called FAST and I rub it on my eyebrows too not sure if it contains that ingredient or not but I read it's the scalp massaging that help hair growth too . Hi Ladies Well done Mysterymouse it's a good feeling to finish xx Lainie G My sight has been affected too I wear glasses for driving and some reading but sometimes my vision isn't very clear I just hope this is temporary. Been for radiotherapy markers I didn't realise these were small permanent tattoos look like dots although they are Tigers lol Need some simple soap now ready for 11th Feb my first rads session Bettypoppit Hope you're eating well in case your taste buds turn horrible. Bettypoppit Well done that's the last one done its a good feeling.You eat while you can it's the best way I'm not so hungry today mainly because there's nothing I fancy as mouth tastes awful I'm never able to eat any meat for about a week after treatment which is strange as I love a steak normally. I think I'll feel better tonight as I have finished the stomach injections they really didn't suit me. I'm off to Hospital soon I wish all my appointments were on one day as I'm fed up of seeing the place now. Hope all ladies who have had treatment have minimal side effects fingers crossed xx ... Hi Ladies hope everyone is ok today Bettypoppit my appointment is at 4.20 downstairs so we probably won't meet. Although I felt well yesterday, last night I had a bit of an allergic reaction temp,spiked at 38 took a Piriton and it seemed to avert any other side effects. Temp down to 37 now. Good luck ladies having their treatment tomorrow especially the final one it's quite an achievement. I'm day 5/6 and feeling much better managing bone pain with co-codamol ,even managed a short walk today which is unheard of for me at this time.My taste is affected but I've managed to eat ,but what I fancy today I probably won't like tomorrow. I think being able to eat better is giving me strength and energy and makes me more active. I still have usual side effects of twitching eyes ,sore feet and my nails are sort of red and brittle. Appointment for radiation markings tomorrow and heart scan on Friday so things are moving on glad I can have a lift to Hospital not up for driving yet just hope the snow forecast at end of week won't be a problem.xx ...
