I had a mastectomy with LD reconstruction in 2012. I am still struggling to find a bra that doesn't become incredibly difficult to wear! I have swelling around the scar on my back still and also have a pocket of seroma too! Can anyone shed any light on a comfy bra I can get? Thank you in advance x

Hello there, I was diagnosed with high grade DCIS in 2012 and am on Tamoxifen. I was advised by onc to have rads as only had less than 1mm clearance but as I had already had recon it was decided not to do it. I am after some info I haven't got a diagnosis of mets but a shadow has been found on my lung which has required an emergency CT scan. I get the results next Wed. The shadow was found on the opposite side to the DCIS so am wondering if it is possible for this to have travelled to the other side? Thanks in advance Carolyn x

Couldn't agree more! I have just started wearing glove/sleeve combo and it's a pain! I am a nurse so hand washing is a priority! I find the worse thing is the constant severe ache! Writing and computer work dont suit at all!! I was contemplating graffiti with a fabric pen jazz it up! I will keep checking this post just in case anyone has bright ideas!! Good luck!

I am a CPN and 3 years down the line this year! I went back to work 4 months after my op (mastectomy and reconstruction) but have been in pain ever since! I have permanent nerve damage which is triggered by driving! I recently needed a bone and MRI scan as I am claustrophobic I struggled with these! As a practice nurse I suspect you may stuggle with a glove and hand hygiene! Wearing a glove over the top is uncomfortable and a little impractical! Not sure what the answer is I find writing and computer work make my affected arm ache bit like toothache all the time! I also suffer from fatigue so dont have much of a life outside of work!! Too tired after a day at work! Part of my role previously was working with practice nurses managing dementia reviews! I should be back to full time in 3 weeks so will see how I manage! I would liaise with your union for advice on redeployment if you struggle with your job and compression combo!! Let me know how you get on.

Hi lexilou3 I didn't have much luck really no one seems to know anything! I am playing it by ear! On a graded return at the moment after a recurrence scare! I am due to move to a new role which will mean less patient contact! You really cant wash your hands properly so need to take glove off this is fine if you dont see many patients but I cannot imagine how it would work with lots of patients! Hi Bermadetteh I had the dreaded scan yesterday with the help of Diazepam 5mg! It was only 20 mins much better than the 50 mins first time! Hopefully get the results in a week and the pain is as suspected a side effect of reconstruction surgery!! Xx

Hi there, I am in need of advice please following a clear bone scan I now have been referred for a MRI scan, however I am incredibly claustrophobic and dont know if I can get in the scanner!! My GP has prescribed Diazepam 5mg and I have the option to take 10mg. I wonder if anyone has used Diazepam if so how much and when was it taken! Many thanks in advance Xx

I have been taking Tamoxifen since July 2012 initially all seemed to be going well apart from awful hot flushes! I then developed very flaky nails and dry eyes!! Following a visit to my optician he told me dry eyes are a known side effect ! I did a bit of research and now take Omega 3 1000mg per day with fantastic results! Nails and eyes are back to normal! Hope this is useful for someone out there!

Hello all I wonder if anyone can help me! I have been diagnosed with mild lymphedema and am beginning to have pain in my palm! I was recently diagnosed with tendonitis and had a steroid injection this was before diagnosis of ld. This initially was successful but pain is returning so wondering if its because of ld that it is happening? I probably shouldnt have had an injection on my affected side but didnt realise this at the time! Any insights would be extremely helpful TIA x
