Breast Cancer Now Forum

I had a mastectomy followed by immediate reconstructive surgery in June. The plan was to make my new breast smaller and then i would have more surgery at a later date It did not go to plan ..... my new breast in 5 inches in length and around. And with having no nipple on new breast it certainly looks different Now I am due to have a Mastopexy in 3/4 months, but it won't be as good as they first hoped for because of the size difference Would just like a normal looking pair of boobs with a nipple..... but saying that I have got used to the difference, I just don't look at them that much now !!! I now thou I find it hard to wear a bra and when I do I am forever fiddling with straps etc So you are not a freak...... there are loads of us out there we are just special ... Hi there, I was diagnosed with Breast cancer last March and since then have had a mastectomy and reconstruction DIEP. I too went to the opticans and have been told that I have the start of cataracts and I am also only 53 . But I did not have chemo etc I too felt so emotional ,after getting used to the cancer and the surgery and then to be told about the cataraacts I just felt like giving up.
